Red Bulls take an early lead and wipe out Pirlo. Yup that's a derby

Massacre at Yankee Stadium. 5-0 Red Bulls early 2nd half

I was just in the wilderness away from civilization for the past 48 hours...did anyone get a chance to watch the NY derby?!

    What a rout.

Kudos to TSN for having a pre-game show for the Vancouver vs. Portland telecast and to Scotty nobody sings the National anthems better.

People who think MLS is all shit should be forced to sit down and watch that Portland Vancouver game.

RE the Red Bulls 7-0 decimation of NYCFC:

Josh Saunders stood on his head vs. TFC last Wednesday, with some amazing saves.

Figures in his next game vs. NYRB, he looked like crap (at least in the highlights). Of course he couldn't stop all those goals; his whole team was crap. But a few of the goals looked eminently saveable. (Maybe some other good saves didn't make it into the highlights, who knows. There's not much spare time when you have to squeeze 7 goals into the 4 minute highlight time limit.)

So many from set plays. Just shameful. Poor Pirlo and Lampard fans...

And what about Tesho vs NE finding his scoring boots? Not too much on the PK but the last goal from open play was a nice one.

Bendik is interesting. His stats are like a roller coaster. 10 + saves one week and 3 goals leaked the next. Good test for him against the P.U. nion soon. I wonder what Orlando's long term plan is for keeper?

Bendik at 150k is very affordable for a starting GK. Unless Bendik absolutely shits the bed, Orlando will keep him.

Having said that, Orlando is not afraid to move a GK if they don't feel he's working out.

He's actually slightly above the average for keepers in the league - by July he should be just below average.
