The lack of depth article mentions the fact that the supporters don't get into the stands prior to the anthem. Kurt states that this is due to the long lineups. I would suggest that this also has a lot to do with the 7pm start time of the game. For me it is not a problem to get to the stadium well before kickoff, I get off work at 3pm. For those that get off at 5:30 or 6, well that's a different story. Not sure who can do what about the schedule, but I truly think this should be addressed.

I was in 227 for the last game, and I could see big lines outside of the main gate at the north end until at least the 30th minute.

I could see the crowd lined up well into the game from where I stood as well. TFC need to get the message out that you can get into gates 3, 3B and 4 much faster when gate 1 is busy. The other issues with Wednesday was the early start time. 7PM is too early for alot of people on a weekday. 8PM works better and avoids some of the rush hour mixed with supporters getting to the stadium and gives more time for those working late then heading home then downtown to the stadium. The other issue that I could see was that they only opened the gate one hour before kickoff as opposed to the previous two home games where it was open 1.5 hrs ahead. This created a line to start with because there were actually alot of people waiting to get in at 6PM when I got there. If they opened earlier maybe the crowd could be managed better as the later crowds come because the initial line would have not been there anymore. I guess then the other issue is that some people just come late regardless so it won't matter what they do for those types. It was definitely awesome on opening day to have the stadium full when the players walked out. I don't think we will see that again for the rest of the year unfortunately.

    I agree:

Weekday games - either 7:30 to 8pm starts (gates can still open an hour before kick off, just direct everyone to the other gates.

Saturday and Sunday games - open the damn gates 1.5 hours early or open the full North end patio pre-game so that more people can enter.

    Good day all & D

Man, after being out a bit later after our first weeknight match of the year, and knowing I didn't have to wake up to do the News yesterday, I overslept! haha Off the news-wagon as it were

Lineups thing is interesting but really felt like a combination of bad things on wednesday. Too-early time and the shirt giveaway - causing bottleneck slowdowns as soon as ppl got thru the gate

Looking forward to the 5pm kickoff tomorrow anyways!
