when you have 9 guys 200k and a number making over 400k (3 DPs at 457 against the cap), you will have no depth in MLS and you better stay healthy. Staying healthy is must for TFC.
MLS is all about value per cap $, look at all the top teams last year, even this year early on.
Buts thats what TFC is forced to do when you have really poor scouting and development over last 10 years.

no, Vancouver decided they were not going to allocate that kind of cap space on a fullback, especially one who nursed multiple hamstring, quad, hip injuries over last 3 years. So we got him for basically free.

Shocked that Irwin is making so little, probably a top 3 MLS keeper.

Cheyrou seems like an expensive luxury to have this year, I suppose we need him to cover while Bradeley is away though

Hard to put Morgan in front of Morrow.

Drogba at $2M is a big bargain, in terms of production and wattage. Even with the injuries.

I always thought Bradley was around 4. Now I will probably be bitching about him more often.

Amazing what Dallas, Philadelphia, NYRB, Portland, Montreal, Vancouver, RSL are able to put on the field with the low salaries they pay. Frank Lampard makes more by himself than 9 teams in MLS. That just sucks. Jermaine Jones was a steal for Colorado and Kei Kamara makes 2.5 million less than Josy Altidore.

Its just the wage difference of each teams top 3 players.
Bradley has shown he is really just a $300k MLS midfielder ... its MLSE thats massively overpaying him and eating the millions in financial losses.

Same with Jozy. Probably only really a $800k MLS striker.

we will be back their in a few years when MLSE finally dumps bradley and jozy, and we go back to Laba-type DPs. why spend $$$ on Bradley/Jozy type DPs when they aren't difference makers on the pitch or in the stands.

Teams that get most value from their $ that win in MLS.

Moor making roughly half of what Perquis makes for being.. two times as good? That's how math works, right?

This just shows how effed up MLS is. The salary cap ...with DP 's and all the other crazy rules is a disaster for the development of the sport.

Moor's on record as saying he took a pretty significant pay cut to come here. He could probably be making more than Perquis if he stayed in Colorado.

Something to inspire to be, a bottom table team, like we were when we had Laba, pretty sure we finished dead last those years, but hey, if you like losing and sitting at the bottom of the league great, but maybe you should support the leafs, cause that's been their mantra since 1968.

It's Shameful what MLSE pays Jozy. I'm sure all the American teams laugh every time they see how much Jozy is making here.

Chara and Nagbe for Portland what a deal that is!

Very suspicious that Ashley Cole and DeJong are being paid peanuts. LAG have 5 DP's and those two must be getting side contracts somewhere else.

De Jongs deal is back loaded. He hits a certain amount of games this year, he's a DP next year (replacing Gerrards DP spot). His payoff from Milan allowed him to take the cut.

They literally wouldn't sign Cole unless he took that type of deal.

Great we have to pay a TFC/MLSE premium for our DP's and LAG gets free ones so they can hang out in Hollywood.

For those who really have nothing to do on a Friday before a long weekend, there is the chrome extension that takes names of players in MLS and changes them to their salary

I wonder if there's any bargains to be found over at FC Dallas? Seeing how much their payroll is and right now they have 8 more points than we do in the standings unless the owners of FC Dallas open up the purse strings big time I'm sure there are plenty of guys over there who would love to be making 1/4 of what Altidore is making.

The payroll seems high but to put it in perspective, Toronto FC's wage bill is the same as Carpi or Chievo, bottom dwellers in Italian Serie A.

The lowest paid EPL team still has a higher wage then MLS.

Higher wages for MLS is a good thing - it's how the league will grow. The DP rule is kind of stupid, they should just ditch the salary cap or raise it several times over.
