Well, K-W were last year's champions, after all. But it sounds like there were some chemistry issues with the TFCA players. Hopefully they'll get that sorted out before the season is a write-off.

What a fucking disgrace! This is beyond fucking embarrassing who the fuck is the academy director what a fucking joke. Could you imagine Man United's senior academy team getting destroyed by a 3rd division club organization which in effect is what Kitchener is heads would roll for bringing embarrassment to the club in such a defeat it's shit like this that makes you wonder if this organization as a whole has a fucking clue!

Tough one. I think they select all of their players through scouting more than tryouts which may stretch them a little thin over all of the age groups.... but not sure on the older kids. I took my lad to the open tryouts they had last year and it was a gong show. There is no way they could get a look at the 200 player there in the 90 minute session, especially how they had the session formatted. I figure that the tryouts look more like a PR thing so the average kid thinks they have a shot.

One of my lad's old team mates was approached after a tournament and he has been out to train with the Academy team and he is actually not that interested in joining because the squad is not very good. I am not sure how they base their selections but I went out to see a game last summer and there was nothing special about the squad. Average touch, average athleticism, etc... I am convinced that my lad's club team would have torn them apart (at that point - I cannot say that about this year as I have not seen them). At the U10 stage, it looks like they are plucking kids from strong clubs such as Woodbridge etc.

From what I saw on the pitch last summer and knowing some of the other kids that went to the open tryouts, they do not have the best individual players on that squad that they could have.

It seams like last year they got streched pretty thin with USL, PDL, L1O and all the academy teams but I'm not sure what is going on this year with a little bit of an older look at USL and no PDL team they should have players slotted in the right place.

Also appears they have lost a few talented kids in Borges, Godinho, Boyake with the 1st making a move to Europe.

There is PDL team this year, which plays a much shorter schedule than L10.

That's interesting i thought the CSA only sanctioned them for 1 year and after that they had to leave, i see K-W United is also in the PDL still.

I believe because TFC also fields a squad in L1O that it gave them some flexabilty. It not a case of it taking away from L1O as they are doing both.

Does anyone know what the age range is for this PDL group? Are they using this group as a feeder for the Ontario League 1 team?

No it's the other way around. The League 1 team is Under 17s. None of last year's L1O roster is on the 2016 L1O team. Some of last year's L1O
I recognize on this year's PDL team and some draw time on TFC II.

Hmm, I wonder why there is overlap in the player pool for this team. Is it to provide the L1O players a higher quality of opponent and/or to give the TFCII players more reps?
