Default Support the Alberta Fire Relief Effort with RPB

    A call to everyone.

As many of you know, fires have been devastating the province of Alberta in recent weeks. The most affected regions are those in and around Fort McMurray. This is a tragedy so close to home and it's only natural that, we as Canadian soccer fans, do our part in trying to help those in need. Many Toronto FC fans will have family and relatives affected by this disaster.

The Red Patch Boys need your help in ensuring that those in Alberta get the proper resources to not only find shelter and supplies, but to rebuild their lives going forward. For this reason, RPB has setup a donations page, supporting the Canadian Red Cross, to desperately help those in need.

You can do you part and donate by visiting:

    www.redcross.ca/redpatchboys

UPDATE: We will have Collection Boxes at Shoeless Joes before the NYCFC game (this Wednesday) and also the Columbus Crew game (on Saturday)

Please help RPB in donating to this cause and spreading the word.

A big thanks on behalf of Albertans. You're helping a lot of people who have already taken one kick in the nuts by losing their livelihoods this year, and have now taken another by losing their homes. The support from all over the country means an immense amount to those affected by the fires.

    A BIG THANK YOU!

With your contributions on match days and online, we are pleased to say that over $500 has been raised for this initiative. What’s even better is that the Government of Canada has committed to contributing some money on RPB’s behalf, as well.

Thank you to all of those that were involved in planning and executing this initiative, as well as each and every person who contributed to this truly tragic disaster. However, the fires still continue to affect people in Alberta, including threatening new oilsands locations, and we urge people to continue giving via any charity of their choice.
