Do appreciate those reports RR.
But....wait...they had a security issues with sunflower seeds?
Somebody doesn't like cleaning the shells off.
probably gets stuck in the turf
Anybody else worried about these poor results? Starting to look like another season where we finish in the bottom third. Vancouver is killing it out in the west. Even KC's and Orlando's first year teams are outperforming us ..
Not worried in the slightest. Results don't matter, it is about developing players for the first team.
This match was the first I've seen of Beckford. He is also 16 and looked very lively in the 20 or so minutes he got at the end. I feel like Hundal has improved each time I've seen him play. I am also a fan of Fraser.
If you look at the rosters TFC2 is fielding teenagers some as young as 16 while their competition are late 20s journeymen professionals. Wilmington's CB #23 who scored the PK has played 5 EPL games for QPR few years ago.
Sunday was the first game I watched this season (besides highlights), team seemed to have much more cohesion then last season and we're able to generate some offense. Last season they we're always on the backfoot scrambling.
Another young player that is looking good is DM Liam Fraser.
I think they look okay, not particularly great overall. Certainly the shuffling is complicating things.
IMO you can't really develop every player on the field. So you kind of have to pick your spots; having career journeymen support the real prospects isn't a bad move.
Results not the bottom line but it's important to be competitive. The B teams elsewhere in the world you see some very mechanical tactical moves for the sake of development (ex. having a winger repeatedly run at a fullback no matter how obvious).
Simonin has just been loaned down to TFC II, looks like he's finally ready to return to game action. TFC II plays this Saturday at 7:00pm.
Goals for Hundal and Johnson again today, game at 2-2 and delayed because of lightning.
edit: Game ends 2-2.

Does anybody know whats going on with Luca Uccello? He seemed to be one of our best prospects last year. Injuries maybe?
Shaan Hundal with his second goal in as many games. Not bad for a 16 year old.
The future is bright for club and country!
Simonin just came on in the 60th minute for TFC II. His first game minutes in nearly a year I think.
Malik Johnson only scores wonder goals. Wow.

TFC II wins 2-1 vs. Rochester. Uccello came off the bench and scored in the 77th minute, good run to find space and good finish in the box. Johnson played the super sub role too, scored a beauty top corner in stoppage time to go up 2-0, then Rochester immediately scored off a throw in after but then ran out of time.
Simonin was caught wrong side of his man on Rochester's goal, and he also had a late tackle that gave Rochester a dangerous free kick when the game was still 1-0. But he had a lot of good moments as well, multiple times he took charge of a loose ball at the back and skipped by Rochester attackers before playing it forward, and I don't think I saw him misplace a pass. He looks like a midfielder on the ball.
I know we're near the bottom of the standings but I'm really happy with the progression of this team especially offensively.

that run by Brian James, dang.
looking at his stats though, dude needs to pack on some weight. 5'11 150lb, i would eat him for breakfast
TFC II ties with FC Montreal 1-1. Jackson-Hamel scored first for them, Jobe was sent off for a second yellow later, then Liam Fraser tied it in the 88th or so minute with a header off a set piece, good delivery from Uccello. Very back and forth game and the 5 minutes of stoppage were especially hectic.

Former TFC 2 defender Marcus Godinho has signed with Hearts of SPL
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
