Those were some of my favourite games, particularly when we go to the Mexican teams. Am I the only one?

no you are NOT alone. I am looking forward to Vcup this year to qualify once again more than any MLS fixture this year.
FORMER FULL TIME KOOL-AID DRINKER
I wish the team took it all more seriously. I miss it too.

It made for interesting games, seeing teams you never heard off, and had no idea what to expect.
I liked it but I didn't really like the fixture congestion it causes or the timing of the whole tournament for that matter.
Definitely not alone, I've been feeling like this since we've been out of it. 4 VCUPS in 6 years....sheeit I felt like we were obligated to be in the tournament.
Plus I want to see this Toronto team in it....well Giovinco really.
I loved those games. Cant wait till we qualify again. I still remember the game against Cruz Azul that we won 5-0. It was awesome.
Oh shit may be yeah haha. These games were awesome
I miss the Voyageurs Cup.
I find myself not caring about CCL.
I also love playing the Mexican teams in the CCL, I was just down there and watched a bunch of those games, it is a pretty fun league to watch and the fans are great.
I also miss the CCL. League games and cup games are fun but there's just something special about international tournaments. Its what makes the sport different to other sports.
Me too. I want to see what happens when Damien gets hit by a bag of piss in Guatemala
To me that tournament is more important than the MLS regular season.
If MLS is serious about becoming one of the top 5 leagues in the world, then this is the tournament that they can measure that progress against.
Until this league dominates that tournament year in and year out, we're not even close to top 5 in the world.
Yep, 100%. Cant wait till TFC are back in this.
REVENGE!!!!
My first TFC match was the 2-1 win over Cruz Azul. Bought the tickets on a whim, got hooked for life.
Galaxy at the dome was a great experience, but my favourite CCL game has to be the home match against Santos (2012 I think?). Evening kickoff, great big game atmosphere with just the right amount of away support and we drew 1-1 after they had battered Seattle in the previous round. Really enjoyed that match and definitely miss the tournament. An away match at "Joe Public" in T&T is on the bucket list haha.
Saaame - I was just thinking about how much I miss this tournament. I know the team is/was focused on making the playoffs...but a CCL appearance would be awesome!
I miss winning things.
That Curz Azul game will always be one of my favourites.
Toronto 'til I die - but I think they're trying to kill me.
Alonso and Dinamo you voiced my sentiments. And as Shway said, playing that tournament with Giovinco, would be incredible.
The V-Cup and CONCACAF tournament always stand out for me as the most emotional as a TFC supporter. The first time I ever felt anything was in 2008 when our side failed to defeat Montreal in the deciding game, and the L'impact went on to the quarterfinals of that tournament. I felt empty for TFC and rage at Montreal for beating the Reds. The following year was euphoric as our side one the first of four consecutive V-Cups as they got their revenge against Montreal on their own turf with DeRo potting in a hat trick to lead our side to a 6-1 shellacking! Then, there was kicking the LA Beckhams around in the CONCACAF quarterfinals in 2012, with over 50,000 at the Rogers Centre for the first leg.
I so want to see what our side is capable of with Seba in the lineup.
TORONTO FC, 2017 MLS CHAMPIONS!!! (Still the greatest in league history!)
I think getting a draw against Cruz Azul at the Azteca might be TFC's greatest ever accomplishment.
“What the world needs is more geniuses with humility; there are so few of us left.”
I enjoyed watching TFC play against Mexican teams. Other MLS teams? Meh. Annoying teams like Arabe Unido? Not so much
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
-Eduardo Galeano
Yes - CONCACaF CL is the highest level in North American soccer. Our best moments in TFc history are from this competition. It was a disappointment to me that we didn't fill the stadium when playing the top Mexican teams. They are a class above MLS and we should aspire to that level. We need to demand that we put our best team forward for these games.
