This does open up the possibility of a defender for forward swap between TFC and NE once the transfer window opens up again.
Regardless, you gotta love this banter by him though:

Kamara will struggle at NE. They don't cross the ball.
typical MLS bullshit..deal all but done at 1am with VAN,and now with NE in the morning after the so called dead line.
Yeah I think there was an offseason other MLS team thread but don't think anyone ever started an inseason thread for other MLS teams. I shouldn't say "who gives a shit" I guess because it is mildly interesting I guess if in the right thread but I opened this thread today thinking something was happening with our team and it turns out it is all other MLS team talk. Better if we keep the threads on topic I guess is all I am saying and open a new thread if needed to keep it that away. Just sayin....
This is interesting. I'm guessing the Revs came in at the last minute and offered a way better deal and Columbus pulled out of the Vancouver one.
I didn't think Columbus would trade him within the East but they were clearly desperate to get rid of him (their owner tweeted that the PK incident and Kamara's comments were just one chapter in a long book of problems). They must seriously regret giving him that pay raise over the off-season.
The summer window is going to be interesting now. The Revs could move a forward out, depending on what thry do with their formation and playing time (especially in regards to Agudelo). Columbus meanwhile will definitely be bringing in a forward, but in the meantime they have to play 7 or 8 games with Ola Kamara starting up top and no backups of any real quality to go to on the bench. Their season might be sunk before they have a chance to bring in reinforcements.
Works out well for us.. play Columbus 3 times (at least 2 of which are before they can bring in help) and NER only 1 more time.
Keeping threads on topic is a good thing, I admit to being a serial violator of that. Like I am right doing now.
To keep this post vaguely related to TFC: nice to see other teams going reactive (if not "panic") moves while TFC seems to be implementing a plan.

I figured I'd do something constructive. So here's a new MLS transfers thread

So exactly how much space will TFC have under the cap once the Summer rolls around? Won't some of the ex-TFC players' salary be finally off the books? They only need $120K of cap space available to be able to implement TAM on a player. Bringing in a $500-700K player and using TAM to bring it down to $120K (the minimum allowed under the rules for TAM players) could probably be done easily enough - I'm thinking a true winger, wide mid, or AM.
Is it a use it or lose it type situation with this TAM? unless we see some major injuries I don't really see a huge need in any position and it might be best to save some of that TAM for Johnson and Perquis extensions after the season is over.
Minimum cap space for a TAM player is 150k, I believe, not 120k. I'd like to see us bring in a backup target striker, and I still think it makes sense to trade one of our backup CBs to make room (even if we don't absolutely have to).
Emilio Izzaguire rumoured to be training with TFC this week after his Celtic contract runs up...
That one is weird to me. I am not too concerned about left back: even if Morrow was to be gone, I am confident Morgan will cover well. After him, we have Lovitz.
Much more concerned about the lack of striker depth and maybe wingers. Though I think Izaguire can play left mid, so maybe that's the idea?
I remember when he was linked to tfc before he decided to take celtics offer.
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
-Eduardo Galeano
Maybe they want to move Morrow to left wing and emilio to left back.
Jozy is out 6 to 8 wks...and we cant make any moves until july.
This is only year 2 of a five year $30 million contract!
cant morgan also play mid, osarios spot.
morrow and CB can go in a trade for a striker
Hmm.... trading Morrow and replace him with an older guy who hasn't played in this league who is likely to cost more then Morrow.
Why would we want to do this again?
This is just.... Yikes.
Would be shocked if They moved either of Morrow or Morgan to LM. Neither is good in tight spaces and in midfield a large part of what they offer attack wise is negated. Maybe they are okay in mid as late game defensive subs but never as everyday starters.
Izzaguire has to be the LM if anything. He has the best skill set to play in that spot of the players mentioned. Earlier in his career he played further up the pitch.
I'm not outright saying "get rid of Altidore" but I think at this point with his injury history the club needs to seriously consider whether he's worth a DP spot in this league, let alone on a team with 2 experienced strikers (Jozy being one of them). If this club isn't at the very least giving thought to the question of "Is Altidore worth it?", then I seriously have lost faith in the management. Again, I'm not saying we have to get rid of Jozy, I'm just saying it needs to be considered.
