Great move. Nothing against Perquis but considering the $ he was on and the fact that we have 4 above average CB's this works out great.
Now take that 300k (100k from Gomez?) and get us a solid AMF.

Damn. That was out of the blue
Think it's more likely the Crew are signing Haber, Honestly. They need him more, fits the bill in their formation.
I feel like we missed an opportunity now to bring Edgar in. I thought he would have worked really well.
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
-Eduardo Galeano
Sad to Perquis go. He was solid this year and helped chemistry from what it looked like on the pitch. This was either done to free up space or Perquis has a signing back in Europe and TFC accommodated.
Neither Haber nor Ricketts really meet our needs here.
I will miss Perquis passion. This leaves us with only 2 SOB type enforcers.
Perquis has always been solid, he's the type of defender that would "scare" the opponent without needing to foul them. Not sure about this move, it has to be the $$$ and his age. Hope our new signings will bring us to the right direction, cause this move is a backward step atm.
mmmmm.. Not really. He's had more off days than a player making 427k should. His scare tactics are worthless when he costs us goals - which he has, on numerous occasions. He isn't a starter on a cup contender team; which is what we should be striving for.
Decent player, not worth the money. Fell victim to the cap world.
That being said, Busa will be gutted by this move. He loves Perquis. Can't spell MVP without Damien.
Fair enough, I guess I exaggerated about the always solid part. But I still think that his scare tactics have kept many opponent DPs on lock (especially vs. David Villa). I think that the Morrow-Moor-Perquis-Beita defence line is the best defence line we've ever had, taking him away will take a chunk off that line.
Agree with this though!
About Habers tweet.
Speculation
Why would TFC take an unsigned guy on an away trip when we already have people in his position for months?
We don't need him there. And he would be unlikely to play.
More likely he is there for the crew or visiting somebody.
It's a shame about Perquis. I completely understand the move on both ends but his passion and tenacity will be greatly missed. I'm hoping we use the money on an AM or strong FWD. We need to start burying our chances.
Dumb move if this is only done to bring in someone like Rickets, he is a marginal player at best, I do not see the point when we have younger players better than him.
I rather the veteran defensive presence than some random below par MLS winger, you can get those guys off the scrap heap any day.
Shame to see Damien go but this opens a hell a lot of cap space if I was Bez I'd sign Raheem to a homegrown deal and then sign a TAM player that can play as a 10
At least we now know that when the club says that a player is not playing because he is "beat up", it means he is transfer listed and will be gone shortly.
Perquis was playing very well this year. His toughness and passion will be missed by the team on the field. He gave his all on the pitch and when playing well was a really important presence. On his salary it was likely inevitable he would be gone once the younger players showed signs of stability, but we will miss him. Understood, but too bad.
I tend to agree with assertion re perquis. I was never a fan of him, I appreciate his levels were higher this season than last when quite frankly he was poor. Getting Moor and Irwin certainly helped him, as he did look better this season. But on the money he was getting he wasn't worth it. On his day he could be strong and capable of hitting great long range passes, on his off days he was reckless and culpable for goals conceded. Always felt his positioning wasn't great for player who had played at a decent level. Never felt he give us the veteran leadership that on paper he should have.
I can understand why people liked him, but just not for me.
This is a bad move. Perquis is the leader in the back that is needed in playoffs. Something happened between him and Vanney.
maybe vanney is following is idol benito system of 0-0 wins by signing benito s fav canadian stiffs that cant scorethis club gives me a headache, another overpaid mistake by our GM.
What happened to the Emilio Izaguirre talk?
