Something we're not going to use for a future USL player. Gotta keep TFC2 loaded with potential

He may not be the answer we were all looking for but i'm pretty pumped on Ricketts coming to TO... I always love when a CMNT player joins our squad

If we weren't going to use the slot, it's a good play to at least get some return for it. It's only for the rest of this season, if I read it correctly. Unfortunately it's Montreal, but who knows if there were any other takers.

Giving up a supplemental roster spot, eh?

    Interesting.

Actually that trade just confirms what we already knew - Drogba is leaving after this season.

They could be signing Edwards to a first team deal. I'm not sure if we actually needed to open up a spot for that though, but regardless loaning Mannella permanently makes sense as Chapman has improved a lot recently and Cheyrou has been excellent since his return, Mannella wasn't going to get any first team playing time (especially once Bradley and Johnson return).

Good thing is he's been training with the team for 2 months.
I don't know if a guy with great speed and little skill is a threat. This is a downgrade from Findlay, and it's not like he did anything special. Anyway, I think we've all given our thought ok this. All that's left is to see if it works out.

For some reason I feel like Bez is fighting the tide with his use of international slots. We should be using these to widen the market of players we're looking at.

He isn't improving it. He's giving them a chance to improve but that's up to them.

As I see it, I'd rather trade our unused int. spots for anything rather than just waste them.

Draft picks can be traded and are more valuable then an unused int spot. E.g. We got Beitashour for a second rounder.

What this indicates is Bez has his target(s) for the rest of the season.

So it's this apparently. Doesn't make much sense as HGs are supposedly off cap, but if that's what Neil has heard or been told then I trust it.

lets hope that intl spot wont score for mtl to knock us out again, maybe that 2nd rd pick next year can help us make the playoffs this year.

This is the kind of short-term thinking that the best organizations in sports are built on!

Why was Ricketts not signed two weeks ago? Did we really have zero cap space to sign him until the Perquis deal was done?

Larson said he was essentially "being held hostage" by his Turkish team. They probably wanted compensation and then realized they weren't legally entitled to any.

Apparently Jaković is looking to move back to MLS. This could be another low cap hit move.

I THOUGHT it was almost time for another crack at this league for him. Our club wasn't very attractive when he played for DC but maybe they can convince him its changed for the better to come home. I thought it would be DeJong first but Jako is welcome.

The fact that they held on to it for so long makes me think they were also targeting an international player. Now they have a domestic it has no value to them but it does hold value to MTL. But a second round pick is essentially useless. I would have held on to it just to make MTL a weaker team.

2nd round picks = Garber bucks = a bag of balls

All of these can be used by a team to justify when it can't keep or doesn't want a player. e.g. VWC with Beitashour. Us with Creavalle.

Considering all the naysayers, I really hope Ricketts does this in his debut:

Based on what happened to Aparicio, a full time loan looks like he's going to be cut at the end of the season.
