Our ability to score is going to depend on getting the ball to Giovinco in the middle. I expect he'll be roaming quite a bit if he's not getting enough touches.

Babouli only striker on the bench, I'm going to go ahead and predict he comes in for Lovitz on 65 minutes.

Speed on the wings and in the middle. Without that speed, we would definately get killed. With it, we have a chance.

Osorio favoured over Cheyrou - I like it.

Gotta go with the formation we want to use all season and then adjust to the opponent within that.

No Veron for Red Bulls (injured), otherwise as expected. Suspect CB pairing there, Baah is an unknown and Giovinco has burned Zubar before. If we can get Giovinco running at them with the ball good things will happen.

Stupid work means I can't watch this game in Toronto, but I'll be lucky enough to catch most of it at my girlfriend's places so I suppose that will do.

Weather at Harrison at kick-off is expected to be around 6 degrees Celsius and cloudy with a bit of a breeze. New Jersey has also been experiencing similar temps and atmospheric conditions (5-6 degrees with clouds) for the last few days, so it's not like either team is going to be in for a surprise weather-wise. Looks like conditions in generally are gonna be fair for both clubs - not great, but NYRB definitely has the advantage here. TFC has yet to win at Red Bull Arena. New York is 5-0-1 all-time against the Reds in Harrison. Gonna be an uphill battle for TFC today, most would wager, but both clubs are coming into the game with changed-up rosters and quite a few new faces. TFC did come off an offseason with a lot of mixed results, though we are coming off an 2-1 exhibition lose to Philly while NYRB beat their last opponent 5-1 against the NASL's Jacksonville Armada.

The odds are stacked against us today in New Jersey; but we do have guys like Morrow, Osirio, Bradley, Johnson, and of course Giovinco....

Not a fan of Lovitz starting but at least it puts Osorio back in the midfield.

Can't comprehend how vanney is deploying an attacking formation with 2 rookies up front against a tough opponent at home. Mind boggling. Lets see what happens.

    He's not. They'll play mostly 4-5-1 I'm guessing.

They had 67 tickets reserved for TFC supporter group members, according to one of these threads.

Well after 20 minutes the work on the back 4 is definitely paying off. New Jersey so far only has one shot on net so far. Hopefully we can start opening up their defense to give Seba some room to do his thing.

We have no attack so far. Just long balls.

    Our defense looks solid though.
