    So, formation? Likely the 4-3-3.

I'm guessing Beitashour isn't ready and that Cheyrou is held back for a sub in the second half.

Can't believe first game is this weekend. I feel like I haven't even recovered emotionally from the end of last year....

As for this game.... Who knows, who cares. We'll probably lose. I'm not too concerned about this road trip as long as we come away with around 8 points from 8 games.

    Planning on it.

Definitely like the meet ups at Shoeless when the boys are on the road for 2 months.

Looking forward to a great afternoon at Red Bull Arena. I am sure Shoeless will also have a great crowd out, so if anyone is kicking around the city on Sunday and thinking of going, do it. It will be great to see Seba in action once again along with The General.

Anyone making the trip down, feel free to find me in front of the warehouse at RBA pre-game.
Also will be at Yankee Stadium the following week, but not as heavy pre-game.

Gonzalo Veron appears to have pulled a hamstring in their last preseason match. NYRB should trade him or waive him right away... what a useless player.

Was apparently having a good preseason though so definitely helps us by taking away a potential weapon.

Uh, about that idea I had that Gomez was starting at the top of the forward line...

    Surely not Hamilton?

Let's see what we do for the rest of the week here... but if nobody else is brought in then yes, I actually would start Hamilton up top.

The only way Giovinco can play up top in a 4-3-3 is if he operates as a false 9, which I doubt we go for. So he takes up LW and Endoh likely starts at RW. I don't see another candidate to start in the middle. You want a little size there, so that kind of rules out Babouli, and then you're left with backup midfielders. I suppose Zavaleta would be the next choice, being tall and playing striker in college. But given the choice there you obviously go with Hamilton.

This is gonna be interesting. lol

With all the talk about the new jersey today, anybody know what strip we'll be in assuming NYRB goes with their home white shirt/red shorts? Have we ever worn our full reds when they were in white/red? Seems like a clash since their white top has some red in it as well. Our new away shirt/blue shorts is another possibility but then the white tops would clash no?

Yeah they've made this awkward. NYRB will have their home kit so I would guess our home kit is easier to distinguish. They try and differentiate by tops light and dark. NYRB did have yellow shorts recently though.

They'll wear their new away kit and we'll wear red, probably.

The formation and lineup for this week will be interesting based on the current lineup, wonder what it will be?

3-1 NYRB. We hold for about 30 mins and salvage a goal late, but other than that, it's not close.

Sounds about right. If the squad does better than a GD -2, I'll be overjoyed.

My thoughts as well. I just don't see our midfield coming together in time to compete with NYRB. But it would be nice to make 3 years in a row winning the first game away to a tough team.
