Rochester is in terrible shape I believe... No owner - USL has taken over the club directly.

That was recently resolved. They have a local owner now, city and new owner have settled new terms on stadium upgrades. Back from the brink of extinction.

Anyone know if there's a concrete plan to include the Canadian USL teams in the ACC? It's been tossed about in the past, but I wonder if it would even be doable given the conflict of club senior teams playing the junior teams.

You will never see that, the CSA views them as extensions of the MLS club, not an individual team. Also for the first time in the history of the U.S. Open Cup, US soccer is not allowing the USL sides that are owned by MLS teams, thus are reserve sides.

I think I read somewhere the USSF has barred all MLS lower division teams (eg. LA Galaxy 2) from participating in this year's open cup, so my guess would be no

^ Ah well. I figured it would have been a long shot specifically for the potential conflicts of interest that would arise. Luckily, further NASL expansion into Canada is not being ruled out, so the tournament could still expand in the future.

Checked Wikipedia, this almost happened last year. They definitely wanted to avoid this. Could have been an A team vs B team in Round 5 (Round of 16)

EDIT: Did some more research and apparently there was a rule in place, where the bracket was only designed at Round 5 and would have been designed with teams of the same ownership on opposite sides (Wiki just expanded the bracket to show how matches ended up working)

Got me again. I had no idea what you were talking about until later posts. This just won't get traction with me.

They can call it what they want when they go to commercial but it will always be the Voyageurs cup.
