Looks like it's the same as the Houston shirt - 2 versions
the "pro" jersey will have faded red on the band and maple leaf on the bottom and the more standard version
They should have done the 2 thin blue stripes on either side with the big red band in the middle and left the rest the same.
Regardless it looks pretty good. No doubt I'll buy one cause I'm a sucker for a new kit lol
I actually thought it looked alright in the picture with Seba because the blue didn't stand out right away very much but looking at the close up picture to me it just doesn't look right. Maybe I need to get used to it....and it is not because it is the colour blue....just doesn't look right as a thick bar at the top of the red. Oh well, will stick with kits I have.
Meh....could have been much worse. I'll wait for a 75 % off sale. Besides, I could probably wear a different TFC shirt/jersey to all 17 home game this year...think I have enough.
It is quite common for the Sun to tweet out the front page, page 1 of the sports page etc to kind of push the next day's paper. Now there was a specific reason now to with today but obviously this editor overlooked that. No, but I believe they'll wear blue or red shorts (with white tops) depending on who they're honouring -- Blizzard or Metros-Croatia.
I like it, very similar to the HSV shirt posted a few pages back. The tiny amount of blue really makes the kit interesting whereas just white and red would have made it the most boring strip in the league.
You should read Larson's interview piece with Freeman if you haven't already, it's got a few interesting tidbits:
- "Never" changing to blue, will remain the "the Reds"
- Confirmed that the blue is a nod to Toronto's colours as well as the Blizzard/Metros Croatia
- Shirts are designed 2 years in advance, so no, Argos didn't have anything to do with this
- Red home shirt for next season is already decided
- Blue will never have 50-50 representation along with Red

The article also mentioned Freeman saying that they're working on the 2018 away kit now and the plan is to keep a little blue in it as well. I think they're trying to make blue a third colour but itll never be predominant. Hmm. Chicago fire colour scheme were turning into? I dont like that idea but hopefully just subtle like this one.
This jersey is decent. Not as bad as I was expecting. I haven't seen a picture with the blue shorts yet but u can see a snipet of Jozy wearing blue shorts in the tfc website.

Things I like - simple clean design, red lettering on the back. Looks okay with the red shorts.
Things I don't like - the blue shorts
Not the best away kit, not the worst we have had. Give me the dark onyx ones any day.

My personal opinion ... Not that bad, and we only have to live with it at home maybe 5-10 times total over two years according to the Sun.
I think the combo with the Red shorts will go over better than the blue shorts

If it was 5-10 times just this year, yeah .. that's a bit much.
Over this season and next - 5-10 times doesn't seem as bad (still not great though)

I am not a fan of this kit. After seeing some of the new kits the other MLS teams revealed, I feel let down and a little jealous.
I loved our onyx kit, and hope it will come back again soon.
