I wonder if the canopy will actually be a solid colour like the red in that rendering or if they will add clear pieces like some stadiums have to allow light through. Anybody heard anything about that? I have not.

    It sounds strange to me!

I can imagine only the couple of middle rows being warm and dry - I'm glad I'm row 15!

I am in the accessible row 21 in 114 and my wife can't come to rainy games due to her illness so I really really hope they took into account the accessible row and are extending the canopy right to the back of the concourse. It would make sense for protecting those walking on the concourse as well. I know for some games the rain comes at us sideways so on those blistery days we may be out of luck with a high roof but most of the rainy days it comes down fairly straight from what I recall so if they extend it to the back of the concourse it will be decent cover even with a high roof. Hard to see where the canopy sits exactly on those renderings.

I believe it covers from row 1 to the back of the concourse, but don't take my word for that i just remember being told it went to row 1.

The red is just from the Youtube video - the roof will be white/grey

Does anyone have a picture like Gabriel just posted but with the north end gone? I believe there was one around but I can't find it

Looking at the picture of the assembled south canopy in recently posted images, it does not appear wide enough to cover both the south stands and the elevated concourse. Hard to tell for sure though. Will have to wait and see.

Interesting how the "enhanced sound and lighting system" seems to take up most of the space between the roof and the top row of the East seats.

Where do all the blue "touches" go? What gets painted Blue?

Is the West Side made blue with a big Argos logo like TFC has on the East stands? That would make sense.

lol there won't be any blue. I wouldn't be surprised if more of the exterior is painted red too. Maybe wishful thinking

Who from MLSE promised us that no permanent Argos symbols would be on the stadium?

My guess is there will be a lot of Giant "blue" posters and advertisements at BMO field (including covering the big TFC Crest on the East Stand that was installed this year) however they will be removed for TFC games. I find it doubtful they would leave the giant TFC Crest on game day for the Argos being visible.

I think this crest would be covered by posters

Probably Argos advertising more like these:

Wembley was built as a multi use stadium. Bad example.

There's no need for the Argos new ownership to be that provocative. I also recall somebody stating specifically they wouldn't do that.

By all accounts Argo and TFC staff up at Downsview get along. We'll see. There are a few asshats among Argo fans but the majority are just looking for a new experience.

No one. There will have to be Argo logos and colour scheme. Maybe not at once or this season but for sure its coming.

TL: You will never know the argos play at the stadium on TFC game days.

That suggest to me that no permanent argos anything will be in stadium or around the stadium when we are their.

That is the standard I will hold them to

I expect 0 permanent argos logos. If i have been lied to by the former CEO of the organization the current president of TFC will have to answer for that and i will have to make a decision if the organization still deserves my time, effort and money. The time and effort I put in is likely much more valuable to the organization than the money i put in.

If MLSE mess things up this year with this Argo BS, then I am going to stop supporting them and wait for new Canadian soccer league to support.

It is very likely that the Argos will have a large perm footprint at BMO/CNE grounds in the next few years.

The Stadium will be "shared" more than most on here will like.

Like most things in life, a bit of both.

STH - 57#. I've seen it all and my current job affords me to know stuff outside the immediate public realm.

The Argos FO will use all the tarps they used at Rogers Centre to tarp up the .500 level to cover all the TFC signage. Unless they sell-out every game this season and the next and people are paying for the tickets, I would not expect any permanent monuments to the Argos at BMO.

In that vein, I seem to remember some discussion during the Argo talks about Braley wanting a permanent memorial on CNE grounds to his 5 years of Argo largesse. Apparently he is envious of the statue of Ted Rogers.

So you're saying there *will* be Argo monuments at BMO? Considering there aren't any TFC monuments?

No I don't know that story per se. What I am saying is that the Argos will have a permanent foothold on CNE grounds and that ideas that BMO stadium will ONLY look to be a soccer ground with TFC imprints are incorrect. The exact details TBD.
