    Just sayin
There was a German flag, when Frings was playing. That's because the flags represent the teams nationality. At the moment, no German, no flag. No Irish, no flag, no Scot no flag, etc.

I doubt they will be brought back.
i hope they are and believe they will be, because they were a classy touch. Besides, lots of room between the roof and the concourse on the south end for flags or even six storey buildings.

I can't help but think that the space under the southend roof is left for future expansion.

Well you're not wrong. Many renderings show that the new south end will be temporarily expandable for special events. I seriously doubt we'll ever need that to be a permanent expansion but who knows, maybe 10 years down the road!

Found a pic (albiet an unfortunate one)

Totally agree with below although why not just make it permanent.. 2 events this year alone will need the Temporary South stands..

    I agree.
    Just expand the south permanently.
Put banners over the second level when not filled with fans.
I think it would look good and help contain the atmosphere.

Between the open north end, space (and I assume structural foundation) for a second south end stand and space for a rebuild of the top of the west stand, those are a lot of options available to expand BMOF.

Nah, they added that many because

    a) there is pent up demand rising that will float this team towards regularly gettting 28K +

    b) the various other events can fill those seats

    c) its easier to build too big and put a roof on then too small and have to work around a canopy

    tx.

The capacity looks like they just moved the 2,500 seats they removed from the North, and the few hundred they removed from the front of the south.

Exactly, but some people arent capable of big picture thinking. They cant see further than next week.

I'm very curious to see what kind of ratings the team will get during their home games this year. Considering the majority are at 7 or 730pm time slot. Hoping they draw more.

I didn't think they removed any seats in the south? Those seats in the front are now just portable as they need to be removed for Argo Games only.

Was just reading about Minnesota United's new stadium plans and noticed they are wrapping the openings between the stands/roof with "Translucent PTFE building skin to protect fans from the elements".
    http://www.mnunitedfc.com/news/2016/...stadium-design

Wondering if something like this can be feasibly used for BMO as well.

Wow that rendering of the new Minnesota stadium looks great nice and enclosed, however , let's see if that's what the stadium will actually look like once it's built, however , if it is then will be up there with one of the nicer ones in MLS, maybe one day TFC will get a proper stadium that looks like that, one can only dream.

Yea.. early renders always depict the best possible option, which generally speaking is never built. Each project is scaled back. Especially projects that rely on public funding which I believe this Minnesota one will.

lol? The players DO, themselves, live in Toronto… so, it does show a bit of how diverse the city is, if maybe a small sample-size.

Nevertheless, I think it were just a poor choice of words; the lad's probably just meant that it were symbolic of the city's diversity—don't see a need to bust his chops.

Thought the same, myself, and it'd be nice to see them return. Fairly sure I've seen such flags elsewhere, around the league (at least).
