When Toronto Rock tix are available through Groupon, I don't think..."hey the Raps and Leafs should be doing the same"

Groupon and WagJag had deeply discounted TFC tickets last season.

Wasn't much fussed about this whole roof deal. Would chuck in a heartbeat for a soccer-only facility.

A big part of me wants to shed a tear at the sight of the demolished north end. I do think overall though it will look really great when everything is finally completed.

all that dirty they're digging up in the north end, up to the scoreboard will be turned to grass for the Argos - but what's going to be there during TFC games? Nothing? Behind the net will be just 20 yards of empty grass that'll lead to some sort of patio behind the board?

I was at the stadium today, and standing where the north end used to be, the stadium looks MASSIVE. Pictures honestly don't do justice to just how huge this roof is / will be - and it's not a half bad sight line from the north, since it is elevated above the field.

Im just curious what's going to be behind the goal net. I suspect it'll end up being similar empty space to what we had in the supporter end of the Rogers centre.

They've said they want to make it a big bar, like in SJE. Ultimately, its a space to put up temporary seating for money makers like the winter classic and the Grey Cup. There will be seating there by the middle of October. When we have a home playoff game, those seats would likely go on sale.

I suspect that they will have some sort of bar / patio set up come May and seating for 200-300.

BTW The area in the north end will not be grass. I am pretty sure it will be Artificial Turf to accommodate the end zone for Football. There will also be a small section of Turf in the South end as well for the same reason. Great thing about turf is that it can be covered with temporary seating etc for the soccer games..

I still think that could be in the cards for the North end.

I don't see them keeping it empty.

I think we will see one more phase to this reno, and it will be a retractable stand in the North End.

Agreed there could potentially be a north stand thats semi permanent as well as a permanent second Tier in the south. Who knows maybe a second row of Suites above the press box on the West side. That would close that gap nicely.

Instead of tearing down the north stand completely, they should have put in on rails, allowing it to move away, and closer to the pitch.

Anyway, checked out BMO today, the cross beam on the southend roof is going up. Those mock ups and renderings don't do it justice. That roof over the south is also Very big. Unless there's horizontal rail, supporters won't get wet, guaranteed. Compared to its size, the roof is not THAT high up.

A retractable north stand would be a nice finishing touch to the stadium. It's really my only gripe with the design other than the ground sharing issue.

You really should go down and check it out. The pictures do not do it justice. It was an awesome sight to see.

    100%.
The roof structure is rediculously massive.

Unless they're installing water cannons on the roof, or it looks like it's about to collapse, I don't think so.
But then again, how intimidating can a roof really be?
