Yeah I'm in row 8 in 113 and very happy to hear it's 6 rows.

Marseille recently had major renovations and I believe they played during the renovations. Its not pretty when half the stadium is blocked off due to construction renovations, but many teams have done it, so many premiership clubs in the mid 90s had massive redevelopment during the season. Its not pretty, but I don't now why TFC could never do the same?? meh its only 8 games, its almost done now!

The difference being that most stadiums do sections at a time. These two phases of renovation redid 2 sides, took down 1 side and put a roof on 3.

I believe you are in the minority ... I agree the stand wasn't the most pleasant to look at, but it added a 'heft' to that side of the stadium that actually created a presence there. I hate it when it's just a big open area ... makes it feel too empty.

Hopefully within a year or two they'll put in a permanent north stand that simply retracts for the Argos games. Imagine another 5,000 or so seats on that end. It would be awesome.

I agree. Right now I think it looks worse than when we had the north stand, but now we have the chance to finally do it right! The north stand looked really awkward. With the suites gone, we have no excuse to not build a proper stand that spans across the full length of the north end.

This of course assumes they will ever do it. If the demand gets to that point, I don't see why not. Right now, though, with the East stand being so high, the demand isn't there if considering TFC and Argos only.

From my understanding the pitch went in late, are there any concerns about it holding up on Saturday?

I'll ask to walk on it. But I believe they need around a week. Plus, they've got grow lights all over the thing. Plus, good weather. I'm guessing it will be fine.

Can you ask about the following?

    Rigging timelines?
Apparent Murals that were supposed to be put up somewhere?
When you get the photo for the south end front rows, just be sure to include how it's accessed. When I was there on the weekend the 6th row was completely fenced in at the front so I wasn't sure how we'd be connected in the front 5 temp rows.
How long until they expect it to be truly finished? There was ongoing construction throughout last year and clearly this year will be no different.

I can tell you for Rigging its going to be late June at the earliest. I have some information slowly coming in regarding the setup and will share in the members area when confirmed.

Is an argo logo going up anywhere on the outside of the stadium? Or specifically the outer wall of the south east stand (similar to the tfc logo on the north east stand).

similar to the way we have heard about a mural to mask the infamous 'gap' between the south end seating and roof, might there be a possibility to lessen the impact of a naked north end? That is the 'gap' most concerning to me.

might it be envisaged to create something sculptural or even monumental that would give the stadium a better sense of being fully enclosed? I cite the example of as monaco's ground, the stade louis which has a series of high arches at one end. Now granted, these arches do have some seating at their base but a photograph (which I don't know how to post) would give the idea I am getting at.

A physical presence that rises up would take away the feeling of emptiness in the north, and distract the eye from the, frankly ugly, backdrop beyond. A 'screening construction' of some sort might offer the stadium a more coherent and complete feel from the interior and even a landmark effect from the exterior.

    just a thought.

Probably showing my age here but anyone remember the Arsenal attempt at this back when Highbury was getting converted to all seater in '92. There was work getting done on their North stand and they put up a mural to cover it.

    I remember.

I want to say they weren't the only ones with that type of mural but can't remember which club. Tbf pretty much every large club in England was renovating the stadium at that time due to the Taylor Report.

Article by Davidson with a few tidbits http://www.winnipegfreepress.com/spo...377980361.html

    Patio on the north end.

Jeff Bradley pointed out the photographer on that great pic of the field

Credit where credit is due - that's the best pic of our stadium ever.

The area people were worried about being an Argo logo being placed on the East stand need worry no more - it is indeed the same red cladding as the north end.

Looks red to me. And Gabriel said it was red so...
