I am a big fan of having a proper celebration after scoring a goal, especially if folks find a way to do it in a manner that reflects the history and heritage of the area.
The NE Revolution and their minutemen firing muskets is an example. The Portland timbers and the lumberjack slicing the huge log is a better example.
And now the Impact have added a huge bell- which sounds like a church bell - and knowing some history of New France/Lower Canada/Quebec the tolling of a bell fits their heritage.
What has Toronto got? What ideas could we generate? Most of the ideas that first sprung to my mind are not Ontario/Toronto complimentary.
After scoring a goal could we...
- assemble a mock condo?
- form a traffic jam?
- relocate a hydro plant?
- sell one sixpack at a grocery store?
- paddle a canoe?
- send a huge boat (a laker) through a canal
- elect a Ford?
- assemble a Ford/car/Kia ?
- import a Kia?
- pay a hydro bill?
- export something to the US?
I am sure more ideas are out there....
