There's still time for Babouli to sign right? He definitely seems to fit into the system that Vanney wants to play.
They must be waiting for another shoe to drop. Bez knew what he was doing when he mentioned that potential european signing.
I have a feeling they might not sign him yet strategically. Even if we signed him, he probably would've been loaned down at the start of the season anyways. So TFC's logic is rather than tie up another roster spot now, we'll wait until we need him (ala Simonin) and save a bit of money and roster spot by signing him later on a pro-rated deal. Even though his money wouldn't count to the cap, it frees up a roster spot, which can allow them to make a 2-for-1 trade if one materializes that improves the team. If not, they will just sign him. It sucks for Babouli, but strategically it's a good move preparing for an unknown future. Signing him could prevent a future move and/or cost an asset. But in the meantime, if he's starting at TFC2 anyways, regardless of whether he's on a TFC2 or TFC deal, they are just keeping him on a TFC2 deal, since it's the most beneficial to the team (obviously not to Mo).

Given the 125k increase in HG money you can spend that's off the cap. Could it be Mo's agent is looking for most of that money instead of say the minimum 60k deal? Bez dropping the international player interest as a part of a play to drive his price down?
Waiting until the summer to sign him to an MLS deal to keep some roster flexibility also makes sense.

Hoilett on a half season sal for 2016, possibly back loading part of the overall salary into the future even though they say they don't do that, might work. I can think of some scenarios where that might make a lot of sense (more for 2017 than for this season).

Hoilett would be a pretty awesome use of TAM and really solves one of our main needs. Pure speculation at this point but I hope to hell it happens.
I read he was on an £45,000 a week salary. That works out to about $3.5 million US a year. Way too much for TAM. Has to be someone else
A contract he signed while he was an up and coming valuable commodity in the PL. He's not nearly as rated now. I doubt anyone offers him more than 10k a week. Coming home might be enough of an enticing prospect to cut even that down enough to get him under TAM.
Seems like Herc Gomez is gone...

I feel bad about the whole Herc episode. Seems like there was never a commitment from Vanney to utilize him in any effective way. Well, other than that one really important time.
So Altidore in injured, Seba isn't a CF... So we have Hamilton as our striker option now?

Didn't see that one coming. Scored one of the biggest goals in our history and seemed like a great guy, so i appreciate his stay here.
All that cap space though.... Means we're getting at least Babouli and one other guy, even if we don't get rid of a CB. And let's keep in mind that this FO doesn't make rash, out of the blue moves like this unless they have something else imminently lined up. We should expect some more moves in the next day or two.

What people are forgetting is that Babouli can still play for the first team at any point while being on a TFCII contract. Reason why I see management in no rush to sign him which makes sense.
But could we see another experience/veteran forward come in? I think sooo.

No he can't, it's the opposite that's true. A player with an MLS contract can be loaned to a USL affiliate, but if you play for TFC you need an MLS contract.
Looks like we just signed Gomez for too much initially, and with him being a sub, the money doesn't work.
