Probably, but they only have to be roster compliant by whatever the date is near the start of the season, so it wouldn't necessarily need to happen right now. Could be in the process of planning some trades or transfers.

I though we can't actually sign people to a TFC contract until January (officially).

Wheeler, Larson and Molinaro all getting the "no truth to the rumor he is signed" "one of many targets" TFC side of the deal.

Rollins likely has the CSA/Boakai side of the deal being told to him.

I want to say that you are correct. In years past this was possible because the domestic and international windows did not coincide and I believe the domestic window opened following MLS Cup. This may fall into a free transfer if his contract is up. For whatever reason I don't think NASL contracts run until 12/31 like MLS ones do and instead sometime in November but don't quote me.

This would be a great signing.
We need to add speedy wingers, and he fits that.

The fact he is only 19 years old, Canadian, and can likely be signed to a decent MLS contract on a (apparently) free transfer only makes it better.

Could fill the place we never really replaced since losing Plata (a speedy, skilled, 5'4" winger! )

Boakai and Babouli would be a nice duo of young skilled guys to bring off the bench.

That move addresses a pacy winger, if he gets a chance.
He can play in the hole as well but I'd primarily see him playing out wide at this stage of his career. Skilled, but still a raw talent.

Would be a few years before he really hits prime. Hope people can be patient (if the rumour proves to be true).

we have a 'win now' mentality and can't afford (or is it won't afford) young talents chance to develop, get first team mins and make mistakes.
hard for youngsters to make first team, unless they really impress somehow. TFC should be using loan system to the max.

I know this is an unpopular decision with some people, but TFC should be use Voyageurs Cup to help give these young Canadian kids minutes.

Boakai has a lot potential and we need all the help we can get regarding wide midfielders. I am surprised no one from Europe took a flyer on him.

TFC2 need HB but I don't thinks he is MLS ready yet.
I rather have Babouli, HB was great in the U17 tornie but for me he was lack lustre last time out for the U23,team

    Hi, FC Edmonton supporter here.

Boakai is a great talent. Fast, skillful, great dribbler, but bad at anything defence orientated. He will need to improve his defence immensely. But his talent is ridiculous with the he ball at his feet. A real tricky winger.

In my opinion, he's ready to be an option off the bench for TFC right now, when they need an offensive spark and are chasing the game.

How good he ends up depends on how much of a chance Greg Vanney gives him, and how hard he's willing to round out his overall game.

did you see Boakai at Panams? He was the only Canadian standout. Creating everything by himself.

I last saw him in the Olympic team last time, last month or so, and he was not so good. He was sub for a few games and started one if I recall.

Petraso was the best Canadian in the Panamas

Odd really as only a year before he was the man, in the U17 team.

No matter what he would be better than Lovitz so as long as he doesn't want a fortune he should be able to take a spot on the bench.

Just remember he much younger than most in that Olympic team. I think he is still eligible for the next cycle as well.

Those two words should ALWAYS be separated by at least one other word.

Kurt and John are getting their information directly from TFC's media guy, it's not exactly a "source" when it comes from the spokesperson. Wheeler works for the club, so he doesn't count, IMO.
