+1 for Manning now. Vanney's favourite boy will be no more thank fuck.
Glad we are getting a new keeper. Hopefully this isn't a tact to resign Bendik in entry draft at lower $$$. We need a new look. Buyout Kantari hopefully and that gives us decent space and options.
Surprised with Jackson, hopefully we can resign him lower.
Aparicio will maybe sign with TFC II? Only 20 with decent experience at 39 games in USL
Normally when teams are trying to re-negotiate the salaries they throw this type of thing into the release "The club remains in contact with all six players, as well as out-of-contract midfielder Mauro Rosales and striker Robert Earnshaw, regarding their future with the club."
Nothing like that in TFC's release.
So adding it up... (all base salary)
Findley : $225,000
Jackson : $165,000
Bendik : $150,000
Konopka : $66,000
Total :$606,000
If you dump a buyout on Kantari (hoping) then $909,000 base. Plus TAM (which may increase) plus natural cap raise... We don't know what the extended players bumps were tho, Morrow for example got a 25% bump. Tight cap lol.
Aparicio was HG I think? $60,000
Any idea if part of Caldwell's salary was still on the books last year? Not sure how retirement works in MLS?
Toronto FC’s 2016 roster as it currently stands:
Goalkeepers (2): Alex Bono, Quillan Roberts
Defenders (9): Mark Bloom, Nick Hagglund, Ahmed Kantari, Ashtone Morgan, Justin Morrow, Damien Perquis, Clement Simonin, Josh Williams, Eriq Zavaleta
Midfielders (8): Michael Bradley, Jay Chapman, Benoit Cheyrou, Marky Delgado, Daniel Lovitz, Chris Mannella, Jonathan Osorio, Collen Warner
Forwards (5): Jozy Altidore, Sebastian Giovinco, Herculez Gomez, Jordan Hamilton, Luke Moore
So we only need to sign a keeper. Q can serve as a decent back up while Bono is getting minutes with TFCII. I'd like to see Babouli signed to a first team contract. We need to bring in a strong DM and a serviceable RB and maybe some speed for the wings.

Thanks, slipped my mind.
Well that's interesting then... if they consider Beitashour a #2 they are probably trying to get him on a lower deal. Beitashour will know that if he doesn't re-sign he will go to the re-entry draft. A good player like him on a reasonable contract, it's a virtual guarantee he'd be picked in the first round and hence be guaranteed to make his current salary under the re-entry rules. So this will probably come down to whether Beitashour is willing to take a pay cut & play less minutes to stay in Vancouver.
Should say, What we SHOULD do is buy out Kantari...
I'm not sure how big of a priority i would give to RB at the moment.
Bloom, Williams, Hagglund is serviceable. Needs: DM, GK, CB, RM in that order IMO.
Hopefully we can rid ourselves of Kantari and Moore.
Kevin Kinkaid reporting Vitoria is out at PHI (along with Fred and others).
The $400k hit he had last yr is too high, but could he be a decent option at a lower salary?

Didn't want to represent canada in the past, has made no commitment now so he can look else where.
Huge pass on Vitoria
My goodness, please no Hagglund at RB. That experiment lasted for 20 minutes and 2 conceded goals. It was only after that disaster that Morrow moved to RB. Just one of Vanney's amateur moments.
Glad to see so much dead weight disposed of. Hopefully Findley actually follows, his production can easily be matched by an Academy kid. How anyone can rate him is well beyond me, teams cannot compete for championships with scrubs like that being counted on.
Confirmation of Kantari's guaranteed contract is disappointing. I reckon this is one of the worst contracts given out by the club, and that's saying a lot. Really hope Bez admits defeat and cuts his losses.
You can likely toss morrow ahead of hagglund as the 3rd option and maybe even delgado. More saying that we have players who can cover that area in a pinch without having to add to the depth chart. Beitashour would be nice but 400+ on fullback starters would be very expensive in mls let alone bloom and morgan at ~100k each as backups.
I didn't expect to see both keepers on that list. I expected Bendik on the list but not Konopka. Let's see where this leads to
Let the formation talk begin:
(I don't see Altidore there)

I thought those tactic boards were from games during the season.
(i can't see the pic but i presume it's from the all for one short posted?)
As far as formation, don't expect morrow to every play RB again.

Three salaries that need to go:
Gomez at 240
Moore at 215
Kantari at 300
Simply too much money across three guys I don't see in the starting 11.
Two of those were moves aimed at bolstering our club in the summer, in which neither of them contributed positively & consistently (Bez dropped the ball)
How do you get those guys off the books?
