Just guessing, as I can't remember what happened in recent years. However, if a player has been passed over by all teams in both rounds of the re-entry draft, he is likely to be more realistic with his wage demands. Maybe they will look around, see if they can get anything outside of MLS, and otherwise be available to an MLS team looking for some bench depth at a low cost.

^ ...or they might go looking to see if an NASL team is looking for starters. I think this could be pretty good overall for improving Division 2 in North America as well. And if they ever end up starting a Canadian League, we could use International slots on Americans. Tom Heineman, former Whitecaps benchwarmer, is making $150K with the Tampa Bay Rowdies next season. That's not bad coin for Div 2.

Building off the report from Totera, buried in this article from Chicago beat guy Orrin Schwarz is that Johnson is expected to be traded to TFC rather than Chicago.

Yeah, with "outside of MLS" I also meant the lower leagues in NA.

If you are talking about in game tactical changes, Morgan can actually play wide on the left in a midfield four with some impact. He has some pace and can cross.

Is this accurate to you guys?
This is obviously a quality team, but still doesn't address our midfield defensive deficiencies. If we need to play a 4-1-3-2 to protect the holes left when Bradley attacks, who is the "1"? Cheyrou?

We saw how that went last year, Cheyrou isn't a DM. I think our 4-1-3-2 will end up acting more like a 4-2-2-2 or a 4-3-1-2

If it is 4-3-1-2, is Bradley the "1"? With Cheyrou, Oso, Johnson the 3? Will that work defensively?

Johnson reminds me a lot of Bradley in that he is often the late runner attacking the opposing team's 18 yard box. However he seems to have an easier time anchoring defensively.

Between him, Bradley and Cheyrou that should be enough talent for the team to figure it out. If they don't, well that was their choice to pick up WJ rather than a DM.

Cheyrou has been a DM throughout his career, he just no longer has the wheels to keep up with play at times.

    Finally official.

"in exchange for the club’s second highest 2016 second round MLS SuperDraft selection" is a little awkward wording but that should mean the 27th overall pick. So pretty much nothing.

    A good pick up.

That is some breaking news LOL, but none the less good to see. Will be great to see this team more ballanced.

Maybe we're acquiring a 2nd from Portland in the WJ trade, and that can be the second highest? Because 27 is our only 2nd rounder right now

Bendik to a fellow Eastern conference club, hmm... that's got to be Orlando, they're down a keeper after getting rid of Hall.

I wonder what we're sending to Portland then.

If it happens we will have a much more balanced team than last year.

Best guess: we get a 2nd from orlando for bendik

We ship allocation, pick (maybe 2017) and williams (not listed on our roster yesterday by mls) to portland in the johnson deal.

Only because Capello is unavailable. BTW, posts like that belong in the "Deathwatch" thread, it's OFF TOPIC.

Allocation is the real prize here, any pick outside the top 5-10 is worthless and williams to make the cap work.

To me it's not very much
