I was really hoping for someone better than Irwin. I know he's a decent keeper by league standards but I had really hoped that now would be the time to splurge and get a game changer; the sort of GK that doesn't have games like the one Irwin had in Toronto. That was probably the one time last season where I was content with our GK situation.
I could very well be underestimating him but nevertheless, management better make good use of all this funny money.

I give up on guessing our cap space at this point. Fuck it, let's sign 3 more guys.
Happy with Irwin, more than happy to be honest. Rapids doing a bigger rebuild than I thought they would (still don't think Howard is going there, though).
is endoh going to make the top 20 under the cap? he will probably spend the year in USL
Now Totera saying a veteran back up is still a possibility on Twitter
And Molinaro added in that he wouldn't be surprised if it did happen
Overall we have 1938922 roster spots apparently

If TFC get Borriello, they have to get rid of Altidore. Borriello, Altidore, and Giovinco cannot play together on the regular.

TFC GOING FOR THE 3PEAT!!!
What our starting lineup should be looking at (Credit to Armen Bedakian twitter)
i like the fact that he has some size...that may come in handy with our smallish CBs
Great to see the 2011 Bytown Boys Player fo the Year joining the Reds. This is not his first trip to Canada having played for Capital City FC during his first season as a pro.
Remember The Man, The Legend, The Goal 5-12-07 and All That #9 Left On The Pitch, Thanks For The Memories !!!
We have one more roster spot, but we can free one will our one season long loan (Hamilton?) to TFC2 correct?
I see this move as a huge opportunity for Roberts & Bono to show TFC that they are for real. If not then I see TFC going for an experienced Intl keeper long term.
Wonder who will take up our token "depth winger" roster spot next year.. Either Endoh or Lovitz
So, you've really gotta think Manning is spearheading this focus on going after proven MLS players... Leiweke leaves and suddenly we're staying away from Europe (finally!). I wonder if Leiweke influenced Bez to go after splashy signings beyond just the DPs.
So our biggest weakness last season was defensively...
This off-season Bez brings in a reigning 2015 MLS All-star CB and 2015 All-star GK, who also happened to be teammates and therefore provide familiarity/cohesion.
He also brings in a former 2012 All-star RB, who just happens to have been a teammate of our own former 2012 All-star LB that season.
And what did we give up to gain all this quality and potential cohesiveness on our new backline?
Potentially 2 NCAA players who will likely never play in MLS (2nd & 3rd round picks) while getting one back (4th from ORL); MAYBE an NCAA player who MIGHT end up as a role player in the future (CONDITIONAL 1st); and some funny money - but who knows how much (TAM).
Honestly, what more could people realistically expect in one off-season!?!?!
And that's without even mentioning adding a defensively responsible CMNT MF in Johnson!
To those saying Irwin is an average MLS keeper, his numbers suggest that he is better than that. He has been stuck on a sub par team with no offensive support.
He might not be an elite level keeper, but I think he will be a significant upgrade in goal for us next season. We finished a few points shy of the top of the conference with abysmal goalkeeping for most of the season last year.
So from our original 500k over 5 years TAM + 800k TAM this year and next, we have traded some for Will Johnson and a bit more for Irwin. Hopefully, we still have some left to make a splash somewhere.
While Boriello (TAM) would be nice in the summer when Altidore and Giovinco are gone, he would just be waste for the rest of the season having 3 DP strikers in our 2 striker system. And I doubt he would be interested in a bench role.
Guys, the whole Giovinco is going to Euro's is not a guarantee... Unless prior to Euros he is playing lights out (even better then last season) and there are multiple injuries I can not seem him being called up. Italy has a lot of secondary strikers, what Italy needs is a true number 9.
So the team needs to figure out if Gomez and Moore are good enough to replace Jozy. I don't think Boriello is the answer, he would cost too much money for what he would bring to the team.
