Could be Konopka (I hope not).
The long awaited return of Brian Edwards?
Well, here are our former keepers that had yet to retire:
-David Monsalve (age 27) - plays in Guatemala
-Tomer Chencinski (age 31) - plays in Finland
-Kenny Stamatopolus (age 36) - plays in Sweden
-Stefan Frei (age 29) plays in Seattle
-Miloš Kočić (age 30) plays in Hungary
-Freddy Hall (age 30) plays in Ireland
-Joe Bendik (age 26) plays in Orlando
-Chris Konopka (age 30) out of contract
Is it bad that I genuinely forgot 3 of those guys played for us?
Update: based on Rollins most recent tweets it's safe to assume the person he's talking to is almost definitely Stamatopolus, but possibly Kocic.
Who ever we're bringing in isn't going to be here for long. According to Rollins most of our assumptions were correct - management want another year to figure out which of Bono or Q to go with long term. Might mean we're looking to spend TAM on another area of the squad now that it seems the GK strategy has changed.
Could give weight to the Borriello rumours...

Frei would be nice.
Frei is a pipe dream guys. That's not happening.
Always felt Stama got a raw deal from us as fans. Think hed do well with decent defense/mid in front of him
Bit of a nothing rumor here given he supposedly has no interest
http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/eng/m...the-situation/After some good performancea this season, Udinese defender Felipe is attracting the interest of teams outside Italy. The 31 year old center back has played in 12 matches so far, teams in both the United States and Spain are interested in signing him. Toronto FC made an inquiry, while the Colorado Rapids went as far as offering a two year deal with an option for a third season- some Spanish clubs are also pursuing him. But Felipe has no intention of leaving Udinese since he's very comfortable there and has a two year contract with the Italian club. While Felipe has attracted interest from other leagues, he intends to keep playing in Serie A
I'm not very interested in anything Amoyal puts out anymore either. He's reported on a ton of stuff with TFC that never panned out (like Vanney/Bez getting canned and bringing in Italian management).
If the report comes from Di Marzio himself, it's probably true. But Amoyal seems to have no filter with what he'll report on.
He said the Vanney/Bez stuff was from his own source but the majority of the stuff he does is just translating DiMarzio stuff into English.
Here is the original Italian piece, look at who the author is...http://gianlucadimarzio.com/calciome...na-per-felipe/
I suspect the Rapid offer was real and the discussion with TFC was a feeler. Which is what the report says.
Amoyal has sources and most of the stuff he reports is true but just because one side has mild interest doesn't mean its going to happen.

Bit of a hefty price but most of us had TAM down to be used on GK

Was Davidson's source an email from the club? That was fast lol
He was only on 97k last year. We gave up some TAM for him, but we should still have enough to make a signing. I wonder if we'll sign another player before the season or save it for the summer window. As much as I think we need a DM, Vanney and Bez seem comfortable with the roster as it stands now.
I like the move. Draft picks are largely a wash imho. Without know the TAM amount given up hard to judge.
Thoughts:
Irwin is about league average. He should be good enough, and an upgrade on our goalkeeping last year. He won't be winning us any games, but he'll rarely lose them for us (unlike Bendik's performances and occasionally Konopka). There is also the existing relationship between him and Moor, which is nice to have back there.
As for the trade, the 3rd round draft pick is barely worth a mention. I'm sure we have enough TAM left over, and it needs to be spent, so that's all right. Curious to find out if the condition on the 1st-rounder is appearances or playoff performance... but overall I think this is an ok deal. Certainly fills a need that we really needed filled, so a slight overpay should probably be expected considering the circumstances.
