    240k.

He'll likely get a new lesser deal with Impact, unless somebody wants him at that salary.

I'm not a fan. He's actually not that consistent, and I'm not surprised he's finally priced himself out.

A real teller on whether Bez/Vanney situation will be if we sign Dane Richards; if that happens, we know they're committed to this "solid veterans" (who are past it) thing and just trying to copy DC and graft on a couple of stars. Might work, if we signed the right veterans. Richards would not be it.

Most people thought he was an attacking left mid but would slot into the AM role well. Nobody saw him as striker.

Except for Seba himself... First indicator that we were going to have formation problems this years was at the pressed when Greg said he'd play as a 9 and a half and Seba said he was an outright striker

Noticed this on Konopka's wiki today:

Konopka finished 2015 with a break-out season for TFC playing in 21 league games[23] setting the all-time single season Toronto goalkeeper league win record with 11 and his 52.4 win percentage is the best ever in Toronto goalkeeping history.[24]

Agreed. About to turn 32, $258,500 cap hit last year and has seen his play and minutes decrease over the last couple of seasons (albeit on a horrible Colorado team). Still has something to offer but all signs point to us passing.

Entering a new era for MLS with free agency. KC's owner Robb Heineman actively recruiting Mapp and Magee:

    "Happy Free Agency....let's start recruiting #skcnation @jmapp21 @magee9 #MappAndMagee2KC"

Colorado were actually pretty good defensively, their downfall was their attack. They only conceded 43 goals all season. Drew Moor played 22 games for 1980 mins.

I think he'd have something to offer, especially in the East.

So we could get both Dike and Urruti in the offseason and then find out for sure who won that trade? Cool.

Mapp is my biggest want today. I'm curious what direction we go in terms of defensive players (Larentowicz could play DM or CB, we could go for Moor, or we could try to pick someone up in the re-entry draft later).

I think if we get both of them then we definitely lose that trade.

    Dallas declined Michel's option? Surprising.

He's a good defender from what I've seen and good from dead ball situations.

His production and playing time dropped this year with Acosta taking up his minutes. At 34 years old Dallas is probably ready to move on. He's on a decent salary though ($160k) so he should probably be able to get a bench role somewhere in the league.

Good experience for him. Hopefully he gets some first team minutes this year.

Except Urruti is not on $200k.
The reason his option was not picked up is because his budget charge was about to go through the roof!

Now if he clears the 1st round of re-entry, then he might be worth a look at a lower contract... but if that's the case, Portland might end up renegotiating a new contract to keep him.

Any MLS gk available via re-entry or trade will have question marks, hence them being let go. MacMath, given his age, is probably the safest choice.
MacMath also was let go because if Colorado would have kept him they would have to give Philly their draft pick and they have 2nd overall this year. So MacMath might still be a good option.

What's the obsession with Will Johnson? He plays the same position as Bradley and Cheyrou. We need a pure DM.

IMO he is a pure DM. Wayyyyy better at breaking up the play and getting stuck in on challenges than both players you mentioned.

Tell me a player who is a pure DM in the MLS.

Laba, Beckerman come to mind... both were DP's

A coach should be able to get a midfield with Johnson, Bradley and Osorio to work... the only question is if the $$$ would work.

I would add Wil Trapp, Perry Kitchen, Ozzie Alonso, and Diego Chara to Laba and Beckerman already mentioned. Most teams have a purely defensive midfielder, or they play with a double pivot.

Johnson may be better playing as a DM than Bradley and Cheyrou but to me all three of those players work best as a number 8 with a destroyer next to them. Bradley has never done well in a double pivot.

We need to sign players based on their best position, and I think we can get a better DM than Johnson. We have all our TAM available, that should get us a decent player from South/Central America.
