People bitch and moan about Bradley and Altidore, but Gerrard and Dos Santos are invisible in this game.

Great couple of games to start off the Audi MLS Cup! Absolute brutal way for NER to lose out.. but at the same time I hate that team so I'm glad they're gone.

Interestingly enough, my two favorites were both LAG and NER and they're both out. Away teams 0-2 so far. C'mon TFC.. I'm lets do this tomorrow!!!!

Same. Their supporters have this sense of (I suppose well earned) smugness on the Big Soccer boards, because they've been good for a while. Felt the same way about the Dodgers crashing out of the ALDS.

When TFC first came into the league the DC fans were the best in the league. The league owes those fans; they've put up with such awful bullshit over the past few years. Remember the 11k is with bad weather and 3 days notice. A good friend of mine lives in DC and he told me that the team actually has a great/big fan base. Once that new stadium is up he figured they'd sell out.

That was absolutely terrible LA performance. And this just meant the MLS Cup is there for anyone to take. I'm betting on NYRB-Dallas final.

I'm hoping for a Giovinco vs Vancouver final... That LA vs Seattle gave me hope - both teams looked awfull. It's a random crapshoot. NER/DC wasn't much better.

    That's MLS bro...
as much as we bash TFC for having a failed season, LA (paying only 3 million less, but having 4 DPs) are not much better.

11,554 is what's being reported on the Boxscore section of the game report on MLS' website, and looking at the stands on the broadcast I believe that number. I don't care how old or crappy the stadium is. Competitive team + playoff game = Get your ass to the game.

Apparently Gerrard was pulling a bit of a Defoe in that he'd fly back to England periodically. He (along with Drogba) also has a contract stipulation that they fly first class everywhere. I remain unimpressed by him. We'll see what he does next season after a few months off but the dude can't cover ground anymore like he used to. LAG's bigger issue is Dos Santos can't play with Keane.

Seba, of course, flies with the team cause that's the kind of guy he is.

Yep Seba is a team guy, no first class, limos to the stadium. On Sunday he was ready to go, first on the bus.

If you don't think goalies win /lose games. Watch l.a Seattle. What a disaster of a goal keeper. Plus frei with some decent saves.

My 2 sentence or less blurb on all remaining teams

Dallas: Good team but not much without Mauro Diaz
Vancouver: Too injury ravaged in midfield + offence not clicking
Portland: Been inconsistent all year but somehow in form now
Seattle: No Alonso means vulnerable defence. Dempsey + Martins carries their team.
SKC: Also too injury prone and vulnerable. No Espinoza hurts big time.

NYRB: Probably most balanced team other than Dallas. Most teams can't handle their high press.
Columbus: Motivated Kamara and tricky Higuain + Berhalter finally figured out Crew defence.
Mtl: Riding on Piatti and Drogba, but few teams capable of defending against those 2.
DCU: Gets blown out one game, grinds out wins when unexpected.
TFC: Giovinco factor is pretty much only way TFC wins.

If form matters, Portland and Columbus have been good the last few games, but Montreal have been the class of the league since Drogba arrived, sad to say.

    I'd back Portland, i think.

Porter has them really ticking since switching to a 4-3-3.

I think Portland loses tonight. SKC is solid in the back and often finds a way.

SKC scores in the 87th minute to tie it. One road team has to win a playoff game don't you think.

Soccer needs sudden death in extra time. Hockey is the most exciting sport because of this.
