If we win or tie next week, we get a home game in the first round. A win by Montreal next week and they get a home game.

With a win by us in Montreal, we can get 2nd if:

    a) DCU wins tomorrow against Chicago, it would take a tie between Columbus and DCU.

    b) If DCU ties or loses tomorrow, a win coupled with a Columbus tie or loss against DCU and we get second.

If we lose next week, the only way we could get a home game first round is if DCU loses the next 2 games and NER loses.

DCU with a goal due to some Torontoesque central defending. Neither team impressing much. Gilberto is the only bit of class on that field. If we play DCU in the first round, I'm confident of a result no matter where that game is played.

Guess we know who the next coach in MLS to be fired is.

DCU now up 2-0 on the Fire. No help there today. We are ending the weekend in 4th it seems.

BTW, with that win by DCU today, NER and Montreal can no longer finish 2nd.

Same old Gargan. Holy smokes, how pathetic can you look giving up a penalty.

Timbers doing Whitecaps a huge favour tonight. Assuming this holds, Vancouver can retake 2nd if they beat Houston, unless LA beats SKC on the road.

In between, LA has a CCL game in Guatemala on Wednesday and Vancouver have a game in Honduras (although I'm not sure what the rules are, they'll send the reserves to the extent they can, LA have already qualified, Vancouver are out)

Doyle tried to argue a few months ago that Dan Gargan was an "mls legend".

and somehow, Dan Gargan has won an MLS Cup, and not by riding the bench.

and somehow, Portland destroys LA at StubHub. LA has been pretty much unbeatable at home.

and people tell me this league is boring. lol

I didn't bother watching LA v Portland, figured Timbers would get killed. This weekend has been visitors' choice - 5 away wins.

Portland looked lethal in transition- with the type of team speed you see in EPL.

Portland's issue all year long has been their inability to score - they fix that and they will be tough to beat.

If you haven't seen the replay of the first goal, check this out. I thought only TFC circa 2011-13 could be this bad

Totally missed that! They will jump from 6th to second if they win both games.

    Serious parity this year.

Grella is one helluva signing for NYRB. 9 goal 7 assists on 60k. Former TFC 3rd round pick in 09.

Every Saturday since March, I've been watching or at least aware of other MLS games from Friday through Sunday.

Today feels so weird without either a TFC game or another MLS game.

Yes, I know, there's Rugby World Cup and EPL and all sorts of other stuff.

But I've grown accustomed to the steady supply all weekend of local (relatively) games that include my team and its opponents.

Yeah it's weird tonight. Usually I at least check all the MLS scores & highlights. I have to find other ways to waste my time until tomorrow evening.

Yup. + I'd rather go to DC than NE haha.

Maybe they'd even give us the section across from DC's supporter's.
