We eliminate Montreal from playoff contention with a win on the final day if Orlando also wins their last game (away to Philly).

Now that we've clinched our spot I can start cheering for Orlando to catch Montreal. It would really be the perfect end to our season.

Montreal be super-motivated to beat us at their home, with a huge home-field advantage?

Personally, I'd rather have them unmotivated for that final match. I want TFC to win both remaining games.

There is simply no way under any circumstances they will not be super motivated vs us. Last game of season, possibly needing points, derby.

I know it's not MLS specifically (and the blue jays game is on at the same time), but the USL Pro Final is this evening with Rochester hosting LA2.

Honestly, it's probably better for TFC if Montreal beats New England. As much as I would love to see it the odds of them dropping out of the playoffs now are pretty slim.

Isn't a draw a better result for us? Mind you, if New England has a good chance at 3 points from NYCFC the following week.

Draw better but a Montreal win coupled with a win by us would mean we would finish no lower then 3rd.

Unlikely he will start but could sub in.

MTL is in a bind - really needs Drogba in this game but such a risk.

Wow, Rochester ties it up on a corner in 90' extra time. This is a pretty entertaining match

    Good result.

MLS2 teams taking over USL is pretty lame.

Only 2 games this weekend really matter for us

40K showing up tonight for the home closer for NER against Montreal - become a bit of a tradition for NER to do that.

    &

    DCU hosting Chicago

Next weeks games for your consideration:

    DCU at Columbus

    NER at NYCFC

    Orlando at Philly

    TFC at Montreal

    Red Bulls at Chicago

A Montreal loss and they are only able to get 5th (which would take DCU losing twice) or 6th but will be mightily motivated next week vs us.

That 3 points for NER would put them in second for now, 2 points ahead of us, and only that game at Yankee Stadium between them and a bye.

A Montreal win and we remain 2 ahead of NER and 1 ahead of Montreal.

A tie and we are ahead of NER by 1 point and Montreal by 3 (and they can't catch us due to us having more wins).

Frankly, after today, I'd prefer a tie.

Despite what they might say, Montreal is in panic mode. I had a feeling Drogba would start. Away to NE is difficult, Orlando is on a hot streak, and we've had their number this season. I had no doubt they'd throw everything at this game to try and secure their spot in the playoffs.

Yea seems like a draw is the best result right now.

Beating Montreal next week would most likely get us the #2 seed and could knock Montreal out of the playoffs. Perfect revenge for the Voyageurs Cup

Montreal defence looking in panic mode for sure. But, no score still.

Piatti puts Montreal up 1-0. My bet is that Piatti, Higuain, and Giovinco are in contention for GOTW.

Montreal wins. On the plus side, keeps New England below us. On the negative side, we can't eliminate Montreal from playoff contention on the last day.

What a game the Reds will have on their hands next weekend in Montreal. With the Impacts 1-0 win tonight over New England, they are one point behind the Reds, you heard that right, a single point.

Montreal winning better for us because getting a home playoff date is now all in our hands because if New England would have won and then won their last game next week and DC wins this week and next week and Columbus wins next week even if we would beat Montreal next week we would still finish below 4th, and thus not get a home playoff date.

Correction I may be wrong because Columbus and D.C. play each other in that final game so what I posted earlier may be not exactly correct. Moreover, grammar was not my forte regarding my long sentence, lol.
