I put a lot of the blame for this season on Vanney and Tim B not getting wingers before the season started and insisting on playing a system that clogs the middle.

    No flexibility now...

I agree, it's kind of anti possession too with such low % passes. The whole second balls thing seems desperate to me, but I guess with lower skill it's a better option than a triangulating/holdup build-up. Maybe I play too much FIFA.

    In case anyone was curious.

    NYCFC at Yankee Stadium:
    100 yards long
    70 yards wide

    BMO Field:
    115 yards long
    74 yards wide

    TEAM TALK
Ideally: C'mon boys, liven up! We're gonna change into the diamond, Warner on the right Oso on the left and Benoit at the base, Delgado your shite and coming off for Morgan. Morrow switch to the right so Ashtone can play the left side. Okay, good? Good!

Reality: Good job boys, love the effort!

This is looking like the curse of TFC past is coming to bite us. I may be wrong, but I think this match is going to end with a loss for TFC.

For me the issue is purely of vision, which neither Kantari or Williams have. You can't play 2 bruising centre backs together if you're going to give them the responsibility of splitting lines or switching the play via intelligent balls to wingers or central midfield.

Don't forget the only reason we didn't lose 4-1 last time was the Giovinco factor. Vanney is pathetic at organizing this squad.

goals came off crevalle, two penalties and a free kick in that game. Giovinco was also perfectly used by Vanney in that game. chill.

Giovinco has been drifting in and out of the game. And, he looks pissed all the time. I predict he leaves in January, to play at a higher level. Imagine Crosby playing hockey for a Lousy team in the Swiss league, and that is likely where Giovinco's head is about now.

The only DP I could see leaving us this January is Altidore for another MLS club

Notice how there were absolutely no rumours about Seba the whole summer window

if that Swiss team was paying Crosby 8 time what the NHL would, I'm sure his head would be just fine

If they paid him 2-3 times what he'd get in the NHL then I can imagine it.

Don't see that happening anywhere else other than MLS, Mid. East, or maybe China.

I suspect an Italian coach will be brought in by and large to keep Gio happy.

A lot of people always point to Saunders and how shit he is when we have our cheap GK chats but he isn't as bad as some think. Whatever you want to say, the guy has good positioning.

Well I mean if you are going to play centrally and you have one defensive minded left back, one so-so offensive minded backup LB, and no RB to speak of ... You'll never be able to fully take advantage of that space. Nothing wrong with playing narrow really. Especially when plan A is get the ball to our top player on the ground.
