3-5-2 could also be a defensive formation. Depends on the role of the wingers. One runs north and the other runs south.

Vanney's smart enough to know a 3-5-2 against a 4-2-3-1 is a death sentance.

A 3-5-2 is pretty much always a defensive formation. Still doesn't matter when you're playing against five midfielders. Stretch a 3-5-2 wide with wingers cutting in and and constant overlapping fullbacks and you'll win 9 times out of 10.

3-5-2's are really only effective when you sit deep against two striker formations.

I distinctly remember the last time we went out in a 3-5-2. In chicago under Winter. Gargan scored against us and Winter ehad a wheelchair bound Frings playing sweeper on a very high line. I still haven't gotten over the PTSD.

Also, making the distinction between 3-5-2's and 5-3-2's is pretty useless. It's the same formation unless you're using it in the Bielsa/Chile sense. And I can be sure that we're not.

A note on cricfree....some dweeb has installed a "thou shalt not make this picture large and thou shalt not have anything but a dim picture until you take off your ad block" on quite a few of the streams on there.

Didn't seem to have any major effect except you can't go fullscreen there, which given how pixelated it is you wouldn't want anyway. Pirated signals equals malware and spam in the ads, I figure, so I keep AdBlocker on.
