barrett would just be a stopgap measure.. maybe he could be turned around to another team for something else.

everyone else can see what he offers. the only teams that may need a finisher is SJ and they have nothing left to trade

We could always trade Barrett and Cunny to Seattle for a bag of practice balls.
Nahhhh.. they'd never go for that.

At this point I don't care who we get. Any striker will be an improvement over Cunningham.

I'm worried at the fair deal comment by Garber, usually a fair deal means we got
SCREWED. I hope that I'm wrong though.

If we do get Barrett, and he score goals that's all that matters.

Yes, Chad Barrett has a pretty poor reputation, and he may not exactly be a clinical finisher, but he's better than anything we have now. I'm not ecstatic, but I'm not pissed off, I always knew we would have to settle for less. Our hands have been forced here, there's no doubt, and this is the exact type of deal I was expecting.

Did we get fair value? No, but we did get a striker, plus some money, and this issue is finally over and done with. I'm just happy to move on.

have you watched him play? I watched a lot of Chicago games when this whole ordeal started. Barrett sucks ass. He constantly misses open shots.

Here is a comparison between Cunningham and Barrett:

    Barrett:
    5 goals in 1174 minutes
    minutes per goal:234.8
    Shots: 35
    Shots on goal: 14
    G/SOG: .36

    Cunningham:
    3 goals in 635 minutes
    Minutes per goal: 211.66
    Shots: 17
    Shots on goal: 7
    G/SOG: .43

And Barrett has Blanco serving the ball.

Are you all SURE you would prefer Barrett over Cunningham???? I don't want either of them.

Although, with Cunny we expected so much, one of the leagues all-time leading goal scorers etc. But with Barrett, we have such low expectations now, anything he does will be a positive. If he sucks, it was expected anyway.

Should have taken Rolfe straight up.
Chicago won't even draft in the top half.

Gotta be Dickov. He was supposed to make his decision today, according to the English papers. It would take until next week to get his clearance.

I'm betting it's Rolfe. I don't think Mo would settle for just Barrett and it seems HELLA coincidental that Rolfe's visiting for the all-star game when he's not playing in it.

Barrett sounds credible when coupled with a first rounder... but fuck we aren't going to be scoring many goals over the next little while.

Remember guys, we're getting something for nothing here, so we shouldn't really be complaining. Barrett is young and has a lot of upside. Maybe he's in a slump right now . . . hopefully JC and Winsper can pull him out of it.

Yup, if it is him, we also need to get behind him. No "Cunny Pt. 2" banners or anything clever like that. Make the guy feel like the important part of the club that he needs to be going forward this season.

I fear for the guy though because all of the frustration from Cunny will probably instantly be directed towards him. I think collectively we will need to understand that he might miss a couple and not get on his case too early. Let's see what he can do.

Probably the best take on the situation I’ve read so far. Barret is Chicago’s leading scorer. Maybe he scores a few for us and we stop stalemating with everyone.

I agree but we are looking for results... if we don't start getting them quickly then there will be a lot of frustration launched his way between now and the end of the year. No one is willing to pack it in yet and they shouldn't be.

If it is Barrett coming, I want some other news of the second striker while we evaluate what Barrett does in the TFC shirt.
