Nemeth's defenders were much easier to defeat. They weren't as close and there was a misstep in there. Giovinco's defenders were beaten by his skills.

I wasn't sure Gio's goal was better than some of the others, but it is miles better than Nemeth's.

Nemeth's goal was more of a weird play, and he had options throughout the run that confused the Portland defenders. Gio took on 5 guys alone and schooled them all.

Can't lie, I found it exciting to see him listed there.
There is a good article associated with that ranking:

Yes, it's encouraging that MLS is starting to be taken a little more seriously by Europe.

Don't believe so, it's rare that non media are allowed into the ACC for press conferences.

This signing was a smashing success and for Giovinco wanting to stay for the long haul is amazing. Lot of great years ahead for the team.

    Congrats Sebastian !

On the day that ONE OF OUR PLAYERS IS OVERWHELMINGLY CROWNED THE BEST PLAYER IN MLS THIS SEASON BY MEDIA, TEAMS & PLAYERS, peoplepull a "oh this team is just doing some marketing".

FOR ONCE, can people on here just stow their fucking cynicism.

DUDE, the event WAS HELD BY MLS, not MLSE. The email from TFC came out 7 hours later.

    Giovinco TIED Kamara in goals.

Giovinco was involved in more goals then Kamara.

He had what many have argued is likely the best season ever seen in this league.

A GUY WEARING TFC RED LEGITIMATELY WON THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS PERSONAL AWARD IN THE LEAGUE AND PEOPLE THINK ITS FUCKING MARKETING!!?!?!?!!?!?

Grow up people. We all got butt hurt by this team at some point but there is something to celebrate here.

There's a lot of issues with TFC.

TFC is using this for marketing but isn't it great that they have someone on the pitch to marmarket around in instead of "come see those crazy supporters" that they used for the first few years.

    Well said!!

Even though this season ended in bitter disappointment, overall I found this season to be the most entertaining and exciting season to date.
Seba took this team to a new level this year and in doing so also inspired many other players to follow suit!
Well done Seba on being crowned MLS MVP and may next year bring even more accolades and maybe just maybe even a championship!!!!

I'm not a fan of black shirt with black suit and tie and what's with the fabric pattern on the suit? Velvet or something?

But yeah, we have the BEST PLAYER IN MLS! That's awesome in and of itself. Regardless of how we got there, we have had our best season ever, so we can look forward to bigger strides next year. And most of that is thanks to that little guy in the weird suit

It's Italian for 'Winner, winner. Chicken dinner.' And I chucked it in because Seba doesn't speak much English.

Humble your opinion is, humble it must remain.

When you look at the hearty acknowledgements Seba is receiving from global media for his performance this past season, he's a runaway winner. Yet to see anyone mention that this decision was a travesty against Kamara. Or even mention Kamara being hard done by in discussing the MVP award.

Kamara's a fine player, but he doesn't remotely attract eyeballs like Giovinco does. The fact that he remains active with Italy says it all. That's about as chauvinistic as any national team set up can be and even they can't deny Giovinco's greatness. Especially since it was achieved under the cloud of gloom that has hovered over TFC since Day One.

That is actually a very cool looking suit. Giovinco is not a flashy dresser nor does he wear flashy expensive jewelry which im sure he could afford boat loads of. Very humble person in my opinion. If you want to see weird suits go look at don cherry. hahaha

I find a black shirt is too much with the black tie and black suit. As to the suit, the fabric pattern is what I think is weird with that texture on it. In general, I'm not a fan of a dark shirt with a dark suit and I'd only wear a black suit to a funeral unless it was a tux for a formal event. But hey, style is a personal thing, so whatever floats your boat.

As for Don Cherry, he has his own style and more power to him, but no one else would be able to pull it off.

And I'm sure you can celebrate with all the Columbus fans on Monday that will celebrate a golden boot not recognized by the league for an OVERALL performance of a player combining season and post season.

Meanwhile Ima celebrate one of the brightest spots in TFC's history. Who knows when the next is...
