Three of Defoe's goals came from opposition turnovers or mistakes and three more came from penalties, which leaves five from open play. Giovinco's goals are mostly coming from nice plays (and those killer free kicks). Full credit to Defoe for pouncing on his opportunities and making the most of them, but the I think way we're playing now and the way we're scoring are both miles ahead of the same point last season.
