If he stays healthy, happy, and for his whole deal then he'll be kicking at Donovan's doorstep for that title.

He is incredible. It is a joy to watch him play and it is nice to be excited to go to matches again because you know he'll put on a show. Hopefully he doesn't leave next season for a swap with Verona.

Can't see GIO ever leaving with the amount of $$ he gets here...no way any Serie A teams pays him anything even remotely close to what TFC pays. Its to TFC's benefit to find other non-dp italian players he can grow with

I've had seasons since day one and not seen the likes of this. He appears to be a true "Jack be nimble" and he just runs about jumping over candlesticks. Kick start Jozy on a 7 game road trip? Sure. Do it by yourself? Sure. Im in 225 i've started shouting "you know you cant stop him" at the oppo right back.

He has to stay motivated though its a small sample size. If he was just De-motivated in Juve this guy may well be far too good for us. Nice.

Everyone is clearly overlooking the defensive prowess of Adam Braz.

But my god we are lucky. With a bit of momentum we might even get back some of the thousands who gave up on TFc after a years of ineptitude.

MLS staff considers Giovinco #2 in the league currently. That's pretty far from #1 of all-time.

However, he could someday get there.

Giovinco is the best player to ever play in MLS.

Giovinco is certainly on one of the best runs of any player since I started watching MLS. Maybe the best.

Schelotto had a stretch like this the year Columbus won the MLS Cup. He is really the only MLS guy I can think of who had the whole game at his feet the way Giovinco does, except Gio is scoring more than he did.

    ----------

“He’s just a different type of player,” added Fabian Espindola, speaking in a Spanish-language interview. "Honestly, today, he earned those three points for Toronto. His involvement in the game was the difference - nothing else the team did really gave us any trouble. He was the difference."

Think MLS just figured out about two weeks ago what it has. The official site has been loaded with Gio pieces for the last two weeks.

    Dear Red Patch Boys
You have developed many great songs and cheers for us at BMO field. I would ask that you develop a new song for Giovinco to the tune of Volare. The lyrics for the song in English are as follows:

    Volare, oh oh
    Cantare, oh oh oh oh
Let's fly way up to the clouds
    Away from the maddening crowds
We can sing in the glow of a star that I know of
Where lovers enjoy peace of mind
Let us leave the confusion and all disillusion behind
Just like bird of a feather, a rainbow together we'll find

    Possible opening lines
    Giovinco Oh Oh
    Fantastico Oh Oh Oh OH
    ......

yes that is the thing players don't stay healthy for long in Toronto and I think he could be called up

If you're talking about him, you're right. If you're talking about the terrible nickname that doesn't translate well, I'm glad I only hear it sparingly.

I'm also guessing there will always be some American Bias in their polls around the MLS Office...

If the current #1 wasn't American, I think Seb takes the vote win...

    FWIW,

@KurtLarSUN their defensive structure through midfield is so good since the formation switch. Good team even w/o Giovinco IMO.

ESPN is now calling him the "best in the league." "Best of all time" is still a conversation to be had down the road.

Then Warner slots in there. Delgado is also an option as well as Chris Mannella who has been very good for TFC 2.

Without Giovinco, we are still a decent squad, but let's be honest...He has been the difference so far this season.

Yup, makes it a lot easier to defend when your team isn't worried about having to push a lil more to score goals....With Gio, they give the ball to him and when he is in the box, pure leathal

"best in the league" currently is basically still "best of all time", only with the inclusion of Donovan and Henry. Can you imagine Giovinco playing in MLS 1.0?
