There is no way it's serious if he made the trip overseas to Italy.

From ESPN today:
Toronto FC forward Sebastian Giovinco has pulled out of the Italy squad with an injury, two days after he was recalled by coach Antonio Conte following an absence of almost a year.
Giovinco was substituted early in the second half of Saturday's win against Montreal Impact with an adductor muscle injury but still flew to Italy to join the squad.
The Italian football federation confirmed on Monday that Giovinco had left the training camp at Coverciano, near Florence, "early in the afternoon" as he was not fit for the upcoming European Champions qualifiers against Malta and Bulgaria.
Fuck that's brutal. Hope this doesn't keep him out very long. There are qualifiers in october again, so lets hope he gets a call again.
Fuck that sucks for him. So much for the conspiracy theories here that he pulled out of Saturdays game early.
Hope he gets another chance for Italy once fit.
We don't know the extent of the injury but just to throw out a likely scenario:
He's gone for a set of games, at least 3 as I can't see them flying him to New York for a midweek game when we have 5 home games in a row after that, and then only comes on for a bit in the second half with a start for the next game. Will be back in form a couple of games after that.
DeMar DeRozan also had an adductor injury, but he tore it and missed six weeks. I'm sure this isn't as bad, but it should take some time to heal.
They better not rush him back....all I gots to say...
If it's a sprain it should be about 2-3 weeks
I hate adductors.

I'll guess two weeks. Misses Seattle and New England, back for the mid-week match against NYCFC.
In their monthly in house poll on MVP, MLS has this as the result
They basically poll 10 people in their office to rank MVP's 1-5 and give 5 points for 1st, 4 for second etc.
The total available points is 50 (10 people voting a player first)
Seba got 49.
Now, the award isn't just based on MLS staff but I kinda get the feeling that its now Seba's to lose (either through a long injury or just being pants the rest of the way).

2nd straight POTM award for Gio!
The awards just keep rolling in. Who knows, if he can get back to fitness quickly maybe he'll have a shot at September's too.
He's also been nominated for PotM for 5 months in a row now... or every month of the season except the first one.

Voting ends september 11.
Wow, just look at that poll...all the Canadian teams at the very bottom below the dumpster-fire MLS teams...all the big teams up top. They really don't want Giovinco on the cover
That new Canadian C-League can't come soon enough!
One could say all three canadian teams being at the bottom makes it easier and quicker to stuff the ballots for an all canadian cover...

"With one more point Giovinco will tie Chris Wondolowski for most points in a MLS season.
With one more goal Giovinco (19 goals, 14 assists) will be the first MLS player to record 20 goals and 10 assists in league history."
is kamara a DP?
wow what a sweet payout
guess you still can win without spending in MLS
