I'll second that Dave!! However, I don't think McCown knows anything but.
While I was re-watching the game last night, I actually watched the "tour/interview" with Leiweke, from the way he was talking Argos are pretty much a certainty.

A few tips for being interviewed on live radio/TV I've picked up over the years:

Remember to speak slowly and clearly and calmly.
Don't say "ummmm" "ahhh" "you know" or "like" if you are searching for a word, just let it come and don't feel the need to fill dead air space with noise. Take a minute to breathe and think about what you're going to say when asked a question.
They may try to bait or antagonize you, so try to keep your cool and stick to your facts. Don't argue with Bob. He's a pro at it.
Take some time before doing the interview to actually write out a few points about the issue so you have them clearly laid out. That helps when you're on the spot because you have now visualized your talking points and can stick to them.
Don't fidget if you are in front of a camera. Keep your hands still and in one place unless gesturing.

Explain this for us, I'm sure Bob is going to point this out.

Credit to Leiweke; always keeps his word; said he'd owe us 1 if we took the #NoArgosAtBMO banner down for one game; buys us drinks post game

Keep the talking points simple. This isn't about soccer fans hating on CFL fans and vice versa - your argument should simply come down to the fact that BMO Field is completely unsuitable for the Argos.

We REQUIRE a grass field to keep our current players happy, and to ensure that future talent won't be turned away. The grass pitch just will not stand up to the punishment from both teams, and the proposed hybrid turf will likely only mitigate the negative effects of such.

McCown will undoubtedly talk about how BMO Field was always intended to be a multi-use stadium. Tell him that regardless of what was talked about in 2005-2006, BMO Field was built, had grass installed, and renovated multiple times since then all with the approval of the city and Exhibition Grounds board.

And further remind him that the Argos did in fact have a chance to groundshare with TFC at York university. A deal that completely fell apart because the Argos backed out to stay at Rogers Centre. I would also like to know where the Argos get their arrogant attitude - seeing as how they feel like they bully everyone around to give them all that they want.

But why did TL and his helpers told supporters to take down their anti-Argo banner. I thought soccer people had no say on this matter, so why they (TL and MLSE) care enough to bring police with them to tell supporters to take down their banner?

I think this is real issue at this point.

This tells me they're scared of Argos getting negative publicity, but instead, they just made matters worst since media picked up this incident and giving time on this issue from soccer fan POV now.

Simple, its the government that supports their bullying, the CFL is a national institution that will be propped up until all the baby boomers die off, we have to wait for a new generation until soccer gets respect.

Agreed. The whole our fans are better than your fans and your old franchise that rents a stadium is not as good as our young franchise that also rents a stadium won't help the situation. They are coming.

and be honest, the Argos aren't the enemy.

MLSE exists to make a buck. They make more bucks in a multi-use facility. It's time that both fan bases ask why MLSE won't invest in sports specific stadiums… that they own… for each club.

But this is where we lose face. Hybrid grass is installed in big leagues all over the world. Famous teams play on them including but not limited to:

    Chelsea
    Arsenal
    Liverpool
    Man City
    Man United
    Tottenham
    Bayern Munich
    and on and on….

If the biggest leagues in the world play on this hybrid surface… surely MLS teams can play on it too?

The real issue is whether hybrid grass can support CFL football and soccer being played concurrently and what's the plan if it doesn't?

The hybrid stuff is still looked at as grass - because it is. It's just reinforced to make it stronger. Elite player won't play on turf, and the players at the clubs listed certainly don't look at their pitches as anything but grass.

But yes, the issue is the pitch quality. And Wembely is a great reference point. An NFL exhibition game destroyed the pitch before an England match.

Reid is hick who's into rock music and baseball, right?

I personally can't stand this show, but only watching because TFC.

BTW: Too much Blue Jays talk on this show. Blue Jays suck, we get it.

It's plausible that the surface will remain intact if there is a minimum 5 day period between Argo games and TFC games, but the groundskeepers will definitely have their hands full, particularly if the Argos play in the rain.

I think it is plausible too.

The big question for me is what happens if it doesn't? This isn't to be pessimistic simply asking what the Plan B is. If hybrid doesn't work, what happens then?

Crossing that bridge when they come to it doesn't satisfy me. The only alternative is actual turf as far as I know and they should be up front with fans. If there is a better one, such as scheduling the Argos for months on the road, let's get it out there.
