Default Game 8 - HOME AT LAST TFC vs. Houston Sunday 5 pm

Here we go. A place to discuss the game itself (not the march, not the stadium).

The Orange Crush may have swept Alberta but it stops HERE this weekend!

Game is on TSN (insert a random # here) and ESPN - thus big head will be in town.

I wonder if we will continue to see the defensive 4-4-2 shape? I love the 4-2-3-1/4-3-3 but I care more about results then how pretty it looks right now.

Are we having our 100% lineup? Bendik, Caldwell, Morrow?

I think I can see a 2-1 win for the Reds on Saturday, but may end up with a 2-2 draw if the defence becomes shambolic again.

They have to be careful not to concede an early goal to take the crowd out of the game. I could see TFC potting 2-3 goals at home with a crowd finally backing them.

These two clubs have played high scoring, entertaining matches in recent history. It should be a dandy.

Houston is nothing special. Their defense is as porous as a sponge and ours is coming together. 3-0 TFC.

We're about 78 hours away from kickoff, and I'm sure the forecast will change a hundred times between now and then.

Just follow the weather network hourly forecast/radar, i've always found it to be pretty accurate.

I am hopefull. Rain is called for overnight Saturday but ending around 3 am Sunday.

Weather for Toronto Islands based on the hourly forecast is only available up until 11am and its not calling for rain after 3 am.

Rain makes for the best atmosphere. Promotes a "Fuck it, let's go mental" attitude when it pours.

    Bring on the rain!

Didn't Caldwell have surgery on his knee? This sounds like a Kovermans's situation again, at 34 its going to be tough for him to come back.

Must win game! I suspect they will be some nervous energy within club to do well in this game, but hopefully it doesn't affect them too much they end up making costly mistakes and drop points.

you hear that everyone? this one's a must win! anticipate the four horseman to spread the sky's and descend upon BMO field should this team dare to even draw their eighth game of the season. Dire times at TFC I tell you.

    First impression is everything.

If TFC wants to sell out regularly at BMO field, then they need to start winning games at home.

Forecast calls for scattered showers on Sunday with a high of around 19 degrees. Winds are also expected to reach 8 km/h. We're also expecting storms on Saturday before the match, so BMO Field is probably gonna be wet and soggy for the game. Houston, on the other hand, will be experiencing seasonal temperatures of the high 20s and low 30s throughout most of the week. That could give us a bit of an environmental advantage come gameday. Throw in the fact that it will also be our home opener and Houston is suffering a bit of a slide right now (they just lost two consecutive games at home), 3 points should be well within our grasp on Sunday.

The Dynamo are coming into a match with a record of 2-4-4 and are 9th in the West. Like I said their last two matches were losses at home, and they haven't actually won a game since April 11th (3-0 against the Impact at home). One could argue they are due for a win, but they haven't won a single game on the road either. Toronto FC on the other hand, is 5th in the East with a record of 3-4-0 and with the exception of Yesterday's hiccup in Montreal, is starting to really come together as a competitive squad. I would be somewhat disappointed if TFC couldn't pick up a point (or 3) on Sunday.

That's definitely not true. Only in 112 and 113 I guess. The rest of the stadium clears out. The best atmosphere is when we have great weather - and I've been in other sections outside of the south end. Rainy games have by far the worst atmosphere of all. Sounds like shit on TV as well. I'd like to have a great atmos on Sunday, so I'm hoping for beautiful weather and a packed stadium.
