TFC twitter has already said the game won't be moved.

Ibra will jog through an early summer team friendly. I wouldn't go just to see him.

Another friendly I won't be attending. No interest in those teams that are playing at BMO. Washington gets Barca vs Chelsea.....I would like to see that. Very tempting to drive down to DC for that one. My travel budget right now is very limited though...oh well.

Barça vs Chelsea is two days after the Gold Cup final. That is tempting, and not far btw Philly and metro DC. Hesitate to give any $$ to FedEx Field and douchebag W.R. owners.

No way I will ever return to Fedex, pain in the ass to deal with. The recent Argentina game was a disaster.

I saw many comments like that. That place is a dump run by assholes. ICC should have done it at RFK, which at least is a legitimate dump with some history.

Chelsea vs PSG in Charlotte is tempting (it's a lovely town) but that's on 7/25, same night as Columbus vs TFC.

We did Utd v Barca a few years ago in Washington. It's a nice drive, stayed about 10 mins away for not too much $$$, and had a blast.
You can do it pretty economical if you look around.

I didn't find FexEx to be too terrible, but yes, there was a militant security force present. Some separation of fans would have been a good idea also. I just figured "welcome to North America, where no one has any idea how to deal with footy issues."

They can't move the TFC game. TSN would have a bird.

I don't care if people want to watch a International friendly with 2 random big clubs, but whatever you do, don't add more friendlies to TFC. Id rather all MLS clubs stop playing friendlies in the middle of our busy seasons. Time to take our own league serious.

^ Same goes with the All-Star game. But they'll never get rid of either of them. They just make too much money for the league. Now if people stopped going to them...

LAG plays like 4-5 friendlies every year, and they still win the cup.

Id rather teams worried about standings first, friendlies second.

Anybody have anymore info on the TFC/Porto games both scheduled for July 18th? I just got an email reminder about tickets to the latter and I'm thinking of my summer plans - surely one of the games will be rescheduled?! I don't care about the Porto game but if the TFC game is moved to another day its going to mess up my weekend plans (I have tickets to some of the Pan Am events that same weekend).

Tfc has said both will be played same day. The tfc game time may need to be moved though.

To shed some light as to why the change is happening...

Porto is about to sign a very VERY lucrative deal with an Asian telecom company. As part of this, there is a clause that they can only play in their summer tournaments. Porto approached the ICC and let them know, who understood the situation but were rightfully pissed. ICC then went to Benfica, fresh off winning domestic gold, and asked them to play to which they agreed.
