Shouldn't be blaming the ref for this loss. This was classic TFC.

We outplayed them at altitude, with a backline that should have been torn to shreds, without a proper playmaker.

Shoulda had that goal with Hagglund. Got a garbage goal from Jackson. Then defence went to sleep and couldn't close it out (young defenders, what are you going to do).

Proud of how they came back.

    We shoulda had the tie.

No shame for our guys or for Vanney. An excellently played game, with heart until the final whistle. Good substitutions. To bad for that goal called back.

Gareth Wheeler ‏@WheelerTSN 1m1 minute ago When Toronto FC learns to defend a secondary, back-post run, they will have a very good team. Loads of positives playing w/ 5 new starters.

    This.

We keep going to sleep on these things and have to fix it.

I thought we played a strong second half .... great on set plays ..... screwed on Hagglund goal ..... unlike when Nelsen would say it, we actually "deserved" better.

Back line wasn't as disastrous as it could've been.

Subs were effective. Gio had his moments. Need to be more productive off of corners. Hagglund was robbed.

TFC has enough clout to thrash Garber on the refereeing situation. It's not a conspiracy thing, just plain ineptitude.

Simonin, Hagglund, Osorio, Dike, and Findley all looked good on our end. RSL didn't have a single player that impressed me besides the keeper..

That one hurts, but ultimately i've been hoping to come back from the road trip with 8-9 points (3 wins and a draw, or 2 wins and 2 draws).

RSL is a hard place to take points from.

Nah, Simon Borg is gonna have a field day with this game, but it really doesn't matter what he says when it all falls on deaf ears anyways

Even with the return of the curse we still should have gotten a point.

The best thing now is I get to hear Molinaro drone on about how we only have ourselves to blame, as if blatant critical refereeing mistakes just poof out of existence as soon as we make a single error of our own doing.

This should have been a crushing draw, not a crushing defeat. Fuck the refereeing in this league.

Gut-wrenching loss (we seem to have had a few of those in Salt Lake over the years) but plenty of positives to take away. We really need to get 3 points against Chicago next weekend - no excuses. Before this roadtrip, I thought if we could get 9-10 points, we'd be in good shape. Get a win against the Fire, and we're close to getting that.

Still early in the season so not too worried about the result, I saw a lot of positives.

The first hour was an absolute disaster. They woke up but it remained disorderly.

Anyway when you equalize at the 88th you have to keep the draw. You have to acquire that maturity, just have the serenity to knock the ball around...

I agree but its a really really young back line. If Perquis or Caldwell or Morrow is in there, that goal doesn't happen.

seems in every game our defence lets us down. We got a lot of work to improve on.

They're paid professionals. I think it would be harsh for me to rag on them as the defenders did ok today. But I'm bored of us being these kids' learning curve. We need players who are ready now

Disappointing but I fully expected a shit show after 70' and it wasn't. The subs had positive affect on the game and somehow they turned up the tempo despite the altitude.

Some guys didn't make a good case for moving up the depth chart. Is that such a big surprise?

Well we have 3 of them and they were all out today.

Don't forget, at that point our back line was

    Lovitz Simonin Hagglund Jackson

I mean the expectation was that we were going to be slaughtered right? Second half we brought it. I am ok with a loss to RSL at their home but the reffing was ugh

I think Dike brought some physical skills that missed without Altidore. Of course I don't know him well (it was the first time I saw him), but i think he should begin the match instead of Moore.

Maybe later on in the season.

He has just recovered from serious injury and is only now getting back into form.

But yes, that is the goal I think. He has showed so much promise over the years but has never been healthy.

We should not have given up that late goal, period. It's on us.

FWIW: ref blew it. Moore poor. Morgan the best he has been in a while. Jackson several steps behind the pace, except for the goal. Dike is a beast. Simoninen has potential. Findlay didn't do much. Cheyrou makes everyone around him better. Osorio and Warner had a decent game, as did Gio. Bendik should have got to the first cross.

Thanks, I didn't know that. So I hope all these injuries are over now, he can be a very good sub for Altidore.

    On another note:

We've now played in 3 of the best and most entertaining games of the season so far (well 2 and a half).

We are a couple of decent fullbacks away from stomping all over this league.
