I wonder if someday we'll get the full story of how that broke down
Did some digging into the stats between Kantari Caldwell and Perquis (on whoscored) and he looks like he's already our 2nd cb, not very far behind perquis but could very well be our #1 cb by the end of the season. It says that his strengths are tackling and his style of play involve " Plays the ball off the ground often and Like to play long balls" I can't wait to see Kantari lobbing through balls for gio to go on and score haha
FWIW, Armen is the first Toronto based journalist to send something out there. As he is with the Score on their European beat, makes sense.

And something cautious from WTR

Kantari is okay but I am hoping for more. I want to see us peddle some of our dead weight for something useful or at least different within the league.

MLSE source tells me that Ahmed Kantari was in town Thursday to finalize contract with #TFC. Deal should be announced soon. Story to follow.

Well we got our CD.
Next?
Wonder if he will be available for tomorrows game.
Our we not comfortable with Morrow at RB? He is one of the top LB's in the league but having to cut back to cross on the right is annoying. Morgan has really made it a harder decision but Morrow is the better LB. Bloom looks to be out for the season so we need a RB cover. I personally would keep Morrow as the RB, add a depth RB option and keep Morgan starting on the left with morrow as cover. Idk tho it is tough not knowing how much room we have in the budget. If only we could get Findley off the books...
edit- not sure of the average starting RB wage in MLS, can't be too high tho. So add the starter if it makes financial sense, otherwise cover. Bez has said no more bad contracts aka Eckersley on 400-500k lol.
Hmmm, which one is it then?
Morrow at RB is fine but I think we still need another fullback. At this point the Creavalle at RB experiment has failed and we don't want to end up in a position where we have to play him there in an important game.
One down, one to go... Just need a fullback for the bench to push Morgan for minutes and I think we are done for this window
TFC announced it now as well:
http://www.torontofc.ca/news/2015/07...-ahmed-kantari
Glad we got it done. Hopefully on a good wage. Now a fullback and dangle Findley out their too
I feel as if Dike, Creavalle, Bloom, Findley, Lovitz and Hagglund are all players that we could move to accommodate a new signing... Keep in mind we're at the max in terms of roster spots
This signing brings TFC back up to having a max 28 man roster IIRC.
If anyone else is coming in from abroad, someone else has to be shipped out.
Doesn't look like it:
I'm told Kantari is with the team in Columbus BUT he won't play. #TFC
Followed up with him...

@Areathrasher as I said. Nothing special. Would have been a good pick up for Dijon in Ligue 2. Very average but a good pro.
Andrew Gibney @Gibney_A 1m1 minute ago
@24thminute @JohnMolinaro if it's physicality they want, that's his strength. Been around the block..never been better than ok @Areathrasher
So Ligue 1 meh and Ligue 2 good.
That would be MLS maybe.

In Bez we trust.
He must be better than Zava, otherwise this deal would not add up.
