L.A. makes the Giovani Dos Santos signing official, and states they are paying down Omar Gonzalez with targeted allocation to make him a Core Player. With Gonzalez making about $1 million, one thing to look out for is that L.A. will probably have to move either Keane, Gerrard or Gonzalez two years from now (not including the rest of this season) because by then they'll have used all their targeted allocation on buying down Gonzalez for successive seasons.
With Caldwell retiring I think we should probably hold off on using our targeted allocation until next year. We should have the cap space and enough leftover allocation to strengthen the squad this window without burning any free league money.
Also, friendly reminder to never put stock in anything from the mouth of MLS officials regarding transparency/rumours etc. : https://twitter.com/courtemancheMLS/...16913227255808
The article he was responding to was clear in saying MLS was looking into a DP-like rule, it even used the term Core Player and it had all the salary number ranges more or less correct. I know they didn't add another DP slot straight up, and the guy knew that wasn't what was being rumoured, but he responded with that anyways. It's typical MLS deflection is my point.
More to that, why semantics are a regular in this league whether its reporting in a newspaper or from the leagues mouthpiece
The silence is killing me.
BREAKING: I find myself smashing the f5 a lot less this year.

I couldn't help but laugh.
I work as a mental health social worker. Public coverage for people with developmental issues is really really bad in Ontario. It takes a year on a waitlist just to get approved for Developmental Services Ontario funding ... and I have had two of my clients with dual diagnoses rejected. They would have to go private.
And regarding the comment about Sick Kids, it's not hospital care that is needed, it's schooling, counselling (both family and individual), and psws that are needed - all of which are exorbitant. It's really atrocious, especially if you're stuck in the gap between the developmental and mental health fields as many of the individuals I work with are.
so im guessing now its defiantly too late for a signing to play for Saturdays match...
All the transfer info leaks in the past made me crazy but (apparently) leak proof FO is doing the same. I know there is plenty of time left in the window but the waiting is getting more and more unbearable.
Well here's something to be glad didn't happen with us.

Another trade:
RSL trade Saborio to DCU for Luis Silva - not confirmed yet
That Silva for Saborio for Silva trade makes DCU that much more difficult - that's a cap dump by RSL.
I wish FC Dallas would take more of our crappy midfielders.
Yeah it's Creavalle. That is the player I think we should dispense with.
Yeah, Creavalle should be the first player to go followed by Findley.
At least Findlay just floats and/or wastes chances. Creavalle actually accounts for goals against and legit dropped points. As far as I recall he has no own goals yet this season but you just know they're coming. And yes I used the plural form.
