This would be a great thing as long as his salary is less than $150,000. He could be a solid CB or he could come and we find out his quality is not what we thought and if he has a high salary he ends up being wasted cap space.

Don't think he'd come that cheap, perhaps $250-300K.

Conveniently that amount just opened up with Caldwell's retirement

The downside with Edgar is you know he'll be called and that will leave us short. Food for thought.

I think we can do better then Edgar for that price. And given we have the int spot, we should go better then the Can MNT.

He's good and would be fine as a #2 for us.

But we need a #1 CD.

The upside is you know he'll never get called for a World Cup, and he'll come home early from every other tournament...

I would be pleased with David Edgar as a signing. But really any additional defender would be good. I think we're good in midfield and we've got a solid amount of depth there that we really need to focus on Defense first. If we can fix that, then maybe we can look into a winger of some sort to play the right side.

Looks like Bakary Soumare is looking to leave Montreal. Could likely be had for a bag of balls.

    Massive cap hit tho. 330k

Also the news coming out about the Impact reneging on their commitment to financially support Cimans child healthcare, if true, is absolutely disgusting.

Yeah that is bad. I read that article with his wife. Doesn't sound good. The Impact's lack of following up this story with some spin or anything makes it even look worse.

I would take Ciman if he wanted to leave Montreal. Way, way better than Soumare. Way better.

When I watch Soumare play I get flash backs of Andy Iro.

That is not a good thing.

Wouldn't touch Soumare with a 10-foot pole on that contract. He's a 3rd or 4th string CB on #1 starter money.

Ciman, I would take in a heartbeat. Best CB in the league. But I really doubt he moves.

I would think Toronto would and healthcare if covered for naturalized citizens. Pretty sure the MLSE legal team could expedite that. Shit, send Lieweke down to sweet talk Immigration Canada.

its close enough that he wouldnt have to move. Would be really hard to uplift the wife and daughter after the progress she has made.

MLSE is better off just paying for flight tickets

Im heart goes out to him, what a fantastic Dad to do anything it takes. (then theres the bums that just take off on their kids)

He'll go where his kid can get the best help. And live there. They thought that was Montreal. The issue about coming here would be language barrier.

MLSE would step up and do this in a heart beat if the player came to them and said that was what was necessary to get them to come here.

Its a great story and now Saputo is looking like a complete con.

It's outside the norm. Montreal has a world class school which was his entire reason for making the move. Expect him to force his way out.

This is gross, what are they thinking? Black eye for the whole league.
