Actually if we did target Teibert, I would put him on the right and leave Osorio on the left. We prefer to play centrally (for good reason); we hardly ever cross the ball. Both Teibert and Osorio are threats to cut or drift inside on their strong foot from their off-wing and look for a pass inside to Giovinco or over top to a striker or wide player. If you put them on their "proper" sides they become much more likely to resort to crosses when facing up a defender, and that's not really our game.

Teibert is only marginally better than Lovitz. We should be aiming higher.

The amount of ground Tiebert covers in a game is huge. He pesters, hustles, and supports everything as a box-to-box mid.

Lovitz runs up and down the channel rather ineffectively and sends crosses into the third row. It's not even close.

    Sure, Tiebert for Lovitz.

When we've dealt with the larger priorities and have the $100K in cap space difference.

In the meantime, defence is our issue, not midfield tweeking.

if you are right about this, and your observations are usually insightful, it means we are covered at RB and LB for now with Morrow Bloom and Morgan Lovitz. Focus should be on a CB. I'd happily take the current day equivalent of Caldwell from two years ago.

That'd be awesome but price tag is too high and at 34 he would end up in a Caldwell-like injury situation within a year. Bez already said age is a priority; whoever is signed will be under 30.

Don't need any more old geezer CBs. Nesta getting owned by Brockie was bad enough

Pretty much had his Cadwell injury situation last season. Wouldn't get enough games out of him to make it worth the hit unfortunately.

Barzagli is a fantastic defender (one of the most underrated in Europe imo), but had an injury plagued season with Juve and I feel in and out of the lineup will be the norm for him in the next couple of years....his body seems to be breaking down.....

Many Juventus fans consider Barzagli their best defenders. He'd be impossible b/c he'd HAVE to be a DP.

Wow, Pogba!!!??? That's amazing!!! ... Except it's Drogba, big difference.

Still, that's a big signing for Montreal, if they can get pen to paper

Guys there's a thread to discuss other teams, it's in the TFC/MLS News Section that people barely use but mods insist on keeping but it is there.

Let's keep this one TFC-only please.

John Molinaro ‏@JohnMolinaro 1m1 minute ago Luke Moore out 2-3 weeks with ankle injury.

Toronto FC ‏@torontofc 2m2 minutes ago Toronto, Ontario
Vanney: "Mark Bloom went to see a specialist. He's having trouble hitting balls for distance. He will not be available tomorrow."

    That Bloom thing sounds worrying.

Ya, could be a hip problem, which may take a really long time to remedy

    Ugh...

What happened to Moore, did he injure his ankle getting up off the bench?

Seriously, bad to not have both Moore and Bloom available for the friendly tomorrow. It means others will be playing more.

That friendly will mostly have academy players, no way are you going to see starters go for more than 25 minutes.

The idea that running around like a chicken with you head cut off can appear great (hustle), however that doesn't necessarily mean the player has any positional sense. I'd much prefer the guy that can time his sprints and be aware of the play around him so that they can make a true impact instead of chase all game.

Case in point.. watch Giovinco.. he will only expend his full energy if he's sure it will do something to help his team.

If you think Teibert runs around like a chicken with his head cut off, you should watch any of the full matches against LA when he neutralises Keane.

^ or against Seattle when he neutralized (and pissed off) Dempsey. Though in retrospect maybe the second thing's not too hard to do….

Teibert's not the immediate need, but he would be a good addition.

Potentially our new CB. Ahmed Kantari. With Vanney's french connections, seems possible.

TFC is also Toulouse FC. I think Toulouse are after him.

Edit: My bad. This article mentions MLS. The others didn't: http://www.bienpublic.com/sport-loca...x-bond-a-dijon
