So bell wants to kill off TFC for the CFL when clearly soccer is on the rise in North American and future revenues will be so much higher than the tiny CFL.

Final straw for me, I'm done.
ML$E can go fuck themselves for all I care. No more TFC and no more Raps.
Bones...
Fuck the argos .

Wow the comments from some of the Argos fans. I remember dealing with that kind of asinine commentary playing soccer in the US in the 70s & 80s. I thought that we were past that bullshit. Nope it's still there, and then we have guys come on here (like Mulder) that will happily chit-chat with such Neanderthals on the Argos forums.
Boggles the mind, 6 million population in the GTA (w/o Hamilton), that we can't have a National Soccer Stadium, incl. TFC, and the Argos playing elsewhere in a decent facility. Unbelievable that the Argos, CFL, TSN and the rest of them weren't able to swing a deal as part of the Pan Am games, after also failing to take part in previous deals at York U & elsewhere.
I just wonder about the logic of signing players like Giovinco and Bradley for millions of $ and them having them play on a 2nd rate field.
The same 2nd rate field that is used by the biggest teams in the world???
I want to believe that the field will hold up.
Yes Man U, Arsenal, etc use some re-inforced turf.
But I watch a lot of NFL pointyball....and Wembley was a mess after 1 game.
We don't like this arrangement but I wouldn't be surprised if the Argos also become unhappy with turf endzones and a grass playing field.
This is really a made-in-Toronto solution. Rather than make a tough decision that actually have a trade off - we'll bastardized something in an awkward attempt to please everyone. It's just like building an airport shuttle that is too expensive to make sense for people to take because God forbid we upset taxi drivers or allow the GTAA to lose parking revenue??
Rollins linked this on Twitter. Has this kind of solution been looked into at all?

With all the money that MLSE is going to make off of the Argos I'm sure that TFC season seat prices will be lowered as well as prices for food and drink in the stadium. NOT!
Well, that's that.
I'd like to thank Tim Leiweke for allowing us about 8 days to rally around his battle cry that BMO was the "largest Soccer Specific Stadium in North America."
I also wish Bob Hunter lots of luck in testing out steam cleaners to get the lines out.
Perhaps the best news is that for this profit hungry ownership group, I look forward to future discussions surrounding the use of the stadium for:
- football
- cfl football
- nfl football
- rugby
- equestrian
- polo
- off leash dog park
- monster truck and demolition derbys
- badger farming
- public camping
- Michigan landfill alternative
- leasing open container vinegar storage facility
- the "Free Range Grub and Cinch Bug Expo"
… I am sure there are many other u$e$ that ML$E would consider. Best of luck.

The lines will always be visible. You could tell where the lines were in New England. We'll always know its a shared stadium, from the inferior playing surface, to the ring of honour, to the giant Argos logo that will go up on the wall.
I was actually interested when it seemed Rogers would opt out and it would be just Bell and Larry T footing the bill. But it appears the Argos will continue their long tradition of panhandling by essentially moving into another stadium where they wont be paying rent, or footing the bill to accommodate them.
My main concern now is are we still getting a roof next year (or will that timeline be flipped because of the accomodations that have to be made), how is the playing surface going to hold up, and how long before they revert to a completely artificial surface. Also, the old exhibition surface wasn't flat, will BMO remain flat with the Argos, or will they crown it?
