The thing is, even if they are operating on the idea that "more money = good" no matter what, it becomes a matter of whether money now from the Argos, could diminish the potential return on their investment from TFC down the line.
And is taking that risk worth it, for whatever "drop in the bucket" (to borrow the popular vernacular people always use when talking about MLSE spending a few million bucks) the Argos will toss MLSE's way most years? They're a corporation worth over a billion dollars, who presumably plan to own TFC for decades, and want to see that "investment" flourish.
Especially when they are wantonly dropping millions on designated players?
