better not be stupid lines anywhere on the field...and remember its only 8 games, so the field shouldnt be too bad
The upkeep at the England Euro qualifier I was at in London a week after the NFL was played was not great, lines and logos were very noticeable.
Remember The Man, The Legend, The Goal 5-12-07 and All That #9 Left On The Pitch, Thanks For The Memories !!!
there will be lines on the field.
don't believe otherwise.
look at the pics.
the paint needs to grow up off the grass for it to be removed.
the paint is applied at such pressue, to ensure both sides of the blade coated.
and it gets on the soil.
if 50% of the blade grows, and is removed by mowing, there is still a portion of the blade with some paint, and the "shadow" on the soil.
I hate the fact this might happen but if it does, could we not shift the field over to the left as opposed to centering it on our playing surface? it would prevent wear and tear along the middle and shift it to one of the wings (further east as teams seem to have stronger right mids than their lefts). We could even build a strategy around it, playing a more central/west flank attack. There seems to be no reason why their field would have to be completely centered on ours.
the paint always bleeds through.
even on field turf, the paint made it through the blades of plastic grass, pass the silica sand and crumb rubber.
there will be lines.
there will be divots.
call the FO, let them know you'll seriously reconsider renewing your Season Tix if this happens.
it's the only thing left for us to do.
even just email your ticket rep, and let them know you want your concern logged.
when does CFL begin?
Why is everyone so shocked with MLSE's behaviour? They view sports as a business first, they can't wait to turn BMO into the ACC.
I just left a voice message with my ticket rep threatening to cancel my season ticket should this go through.
for those that don't know.
Desso looks like this:
yes, there were divots at Wembley, which uses Desso, after the Lions/Falcons game in 2014.
With the equivalent of over 6 rugby games being played at BMO Field on July 11/12 it will be interesting to see how the pitch is for the Canada/Costa Rica Gold cup on July 14th - especially as there will be another soccer game earlier on the 14th! And then TFC plays against Philadelpha 4 days later (6 days after the rugby) on the 18th.
Similarly with the 3 full international Rugby matches (Pacific Nations Cup) scheduled for BMO on July 29th it will be interesting to see how BMO Field looks a week later on August 5 against Orlando.
Though quite frankly, I couldn't see much issue after the August 24th 2013 Canada-USA Rugby match when TFC played New England 6 days later on August 30th. If you looked real hard, you could see where the rugby lines had been. I really don't think most people noticed, and there didn't seem to be any uproar from people here.
Edu didn't deserve to die for this!
When there is someone attached to a paper or just sports in general talking about the subject we're discussing in here of course it will get a mention and reflection on it. We're already "up in arms" on the matter.
This isn't about managing expectations because the ownership has made us cynical. Regardless of how this happens it should be noted how people feel about it.
FORMER FULL TIME KOOL-AID DRINKER
If tfc wins and do well, people will forget about the field
If we suck again and the argos play on the field, then all hell will break
