And this has just been brought to my attention:
http://www.argofans.com/showthread.php?4517-new-signage
The locker room is under the east stands at the north end. The outside wall has the Argos art on it (right by the stairs to go up to the upper deck). Is that what you mean?
Meh.....
Its all about the pitch.
I know where the locker room is, I said what I said pretty clearly. I have been told this morning that there is now new, permanent Argos signage to match the scale of the TFC emblem at BMO Field. I haven't seen anything at all and have said that I am just trying to seek clarification.
Didn't Larson say this was going to happen ages ago? The signage on the North-West corner, that is?
More lies from MLSE... pretty typical
I believe they were talking about no signage or permanent banners "inside the stadium"
Loyal - Win, lose or draw!
Weston, Ontario
It's not neccessarily the sign. TFC got a similar one. If you are entering BMO from the GO train, or liberty village, you wont even notice the Argos sign.
But we were specifically promised no permanent signage.
MLSE is now breaking promises concerning the Argos.
So how can we trust them when it comes to keeping the grass? Perhaps blue seats are in the future. Maybe Argos statues will pop up on the concourse.
I dont know the alternative. The Argos arent going anywhere. They dont have the support to fill BMO let alone their own stadium, and TSN needs a team in Toronto for some reason, regardless of the city's indifference.
here is the sign on the north west light stand
LOL That is soooooooooooooooo Argo. A sign placement by somebody who thinks all people drive.
That ownership group is not aware of the demographics going on in this city.
Moving on.....
I expected it to look more like the TFC logo - all silver and whatnot.
Toronto 'til I die - but I think they're trying to kill me.
bottom line they will never fill the stadium no matter how many signs they put up...
I think they are being a wee bit crafty here. They are putting a sign up that a lot of people won't see, there will be a bit of a kerfuffle like we are seeing on here now, then it will pass and the sign is basically grudgingly accepted over time. A lot of us are caught up in play off and winning league etc to really get into anything too negative right now and then the next thing, before you know it, more signs will appear in more noticeable areas.
Hope I'm wrong but I think that could be their utlimate endgame.
Maybe it's just the angle but it looks pretty small and pathetic.
To only draw 17k vs Hamilton in a critical 2nd half of the season game last week means they are indeed in trouble.
Kurt any other 'surprises' we can expect?
You can just imagine the throngs that'll pour in to watch the Argos now that their sign has gone up.
And that's all it'll be. Imagining.
Hey, c'mon now. There's stadium issues still to be sorted.
The schedule, for starters. Like, of Everything In Toronto, not just the Argos games. Huge impediment.
And parking is so expensive. Don't have to pay them prices at home in Peterboro. Or Dundas. Or Aldershot. Or wherever they come from.
If you read their fans comments about the stadium, the seats are uncomfortable. And too narrow (yikes). And the east side is too hot coz it's in the sunshine. And the south end seats are too far away to view everything properly. And you can't keep track of the game if you're sitting too close to the scoreboard end. And the dressing room area causes post-game congestion at the exits.
You need the courage of Lassie - and maybe the lure of cheap beer - to venture near the place. Argo fans. You just want to give them a medal for enduring it all.
I am rocking out to some Bakermat tonight.
