Osorio almost scored. Fantastic save by the Koege keeper. We look quite good right now. More urgency. Like every ball matters.

More drive now. Oso should have had that one.

Teams are going to clog the middle against us. I don't see our wingers getting the job done currently.

    Porter?

All clubs that too a chance and made the playoffs and contended for Supporters Shield and MLS Cup.

I'm not worried yet about how we'll be this season. I'm just commenting on what I see right now that's lacking. They still have to practice attacks (they've been focusing on defensive organization so far. I think things will be better in MLS where things are a lot more wide open than they are against smaller teams that put everyone behind the ball. It's hard to put defensive organization into practice when you're playing against a team that barely has the ball

There are definitely rookie coaches who do well. And good for them. Our history is that every single rookie coach has been a disaster. That's our experience. Kreis and Porter isn't going to change that.

My opinion is that experience is better than no experience. "Learning on the job" is very risky. But we seem willing to take that risk over and over again, and with every rookie coach we sign someone will bring up Kreis as a reason why we shouldn't go for experience. Having said that I do hope Vanney pulls it off and becomes a successful coach with us. Of course I do - I support the team. But I'd feel better with experience in the manager chair that's all. Most top clubs in Europe do not hire rookies, so not sure why we do. Heck, most managers in the Danish league have very lengthy resumes (except for the lower leagues, like Koege and such).

All matters what formation we go with. I'd we do the 4-4-2 diamond like much of us think the wingbacks will open the space for them.

They were playing on the jog quite deliberately until it became clear from a couple of hard fouls that Koge was taking this seriously; I think around the thirty-five minute mark Vanney told them to open it up.

No but you don't always get it wrong. And you won't know unless you try.

Exactly, we have had more rookie coach failures than the league has had rookie coach successes

Too bad about the crappy stream & camera angle. A couple of times, the announcer was the only reason I knew if there had been a goal scored or not.

I thought TFC got much better in the last 20 minutes especially. Not alot of ideas in front of net yet, hopefully that will improve. Koge had some great chances, but not much sustained pressure.

It's a bit hard to see given the cruddy video, but I'm a bit worried about the (lack of) speed when Caldwell & Perquis are paired, especially against a fast team playing the counter. What do you guys think?

I've noticed that both oppositions this pre-season have had success with pressing us. We need to be able to break the press and keep the opposing defence honest.

Good hustle from Creavalle who gives us that goal. If it wasn't for him not giving up on that ball.

The logical response if teams clog the middle is to move Gio out wide and Oso into the middle

He definitely looks good in this game. Might be challenging for that right back position with Bloom. He has looked great in this game mostly in the offensive part of the game but I would like to see when he has to deal with a good winger playing against him on the defensive end.

Agreed. That's the obvious way to spread some of the quality around.

If I squint at the monitor it helps. I've seen Flintstones episodes that look more life-like.

Meh, I've seen worse. The frame isn't great but no buffering problems, commentary non-annoying, and camera work isn't terrible.

No one really around for Gio to pass to. Altidore seems like a lost soul out there.

Final ball from the flanks poor and very robotic. Overall good game though.
