Why was Warner pushing up higher than Bradley? Makes little sense to me ..
Good game by the lads. Improved over the last game. Keep it up!
Victory at last. We came out flat but improved as the match wore on.
People were complaining about the quality of a free preseason stream....
Holy fucking queens the lot of you.
Seba & Vanney really have to figure out a way to change Seba's game -- as well as how to get Altidore involved. Seba making some poor decisions IMO; sometimes he doesn't have many other options; and teams find it easy to clog the middle and neutralize our (supposedly) most dangerous players.
As others have mentioned, the overall compete level was much better. Many guys also playing for more than 45 minutes this game as Vanney bumps up their playing time. Defence looked too risky a number of times also. But mostly I'm just guessing because I couldn't see much on the stream, and found myself switching away to do other things as a result.
I still like Gilberto more than I like Altidore...

Watching it on youtube now.
Bendik is pretty pathetic at distributing the ball still.
Cheyrou is the steal of the off season.
Oh guys, I was referring to the drama type.
As for quality, it's a temp set up for preseason, it's not really in the budget to have towers set up to give that sight line we all want. Also, considering the network connection around the game is probably not all that great, you have a bottle neck at the broadcast end.

Just watched that chance where they should have scored.
Creavalle cheating in too much left his winger open.
After that Perquis didn't follow his runner but also Lovitz not coming back to cover.....he was ball watching.
In love with Cheyrou and Perquis atm. Cheyrou's gotta special kind of touch and he hasn't played in months so I'm okay with his errors. Caldwell and Perquis cannot play together it leaves us exposed on the counter. I don't think Caldwell will be on this team come August.
I'll give Vanney one more game to figure out that Gio cannot play in the hole.
Love Oso.
Jozy looks isolated, but we're still figuring out the attack.
Chappers looked nice enough.
Creavalle > Bloom.
Lovitz > Findley, but also Gio > Lovitz > Findley for that left wing.
Bendik was forced to play those long balls due to high pressure so no complaints there, but I'd like to see Bono get a full 90 minutes versus Red Bulls to see what our options look like at keeper.
Just got back from the game. Had front row midfield seats ha ha. HB Kloge was a good team. Passed the ball well and once they had the ball it was pretty hard to get it away from them. The wings were wide open all game and the few times we got the ball there stuff happened. Looks like we don't know how to pass to Altidore yet as there were many times he was waiting for a through ball but we stupidly did something else . Caldwell was a little weak at the start of the game but he finished the game strongly. Pretty good effort I thought.
P.S. 72 degrees and sunny today
Well my screen is only 24" and my Curling Iron only has a 12" Cord and the Mirror is 15ft from the monitor... so When I'm curling my wigs so I can look my best as Fantasia Fantastic Countess of Lesbos I need a quality steam.
Also the boys seem to be developing well. I'm pleased. Though This is meaningless lets see where we stand 1st of April and I'll make a judgement then.

Giovinco is not going to play on the wing. He showed some decent link up play today. Give it time.
Also decided to make the drive today. Got there a bit late, and ended up missing the first half hour (I know, typical Toronto fan, but I am more than an hour's drive away!) I pretty much would agree with you in every respect, although I didn't see Caldwell's weak play at the start, as you mentioned. He was one of the stronger players on the field, and saved a goal after Morrow gave up a breakaway. Great experience, altogether. Saw Tim B up on the bleachers and wanted to go shoot the shit with him, but decided not to bother him. Ended up sitting next to Bloom's wife and daughter.
Impressed by Gio, although he should have taken that one chance right before his substitution a little better. Altidore was a little tooabsent for my liking. We need to start doing a better job of finding him. Strong performances by Bradley and Cheyrou, as well as Perquis, all of whom continue to impress. Thought Creavalle had a pretty solid game as well, and I am typically not his biggest fan.
All in all, lots of fun. My girlfriend, knowing how much of a fan I am, demanded that we go watch them when she found out it was only 70 minutes away. She's too good to me. Definitely would love to go watch them play NYRB, but I will be back in Canada by then.
Based on the post game videos and tweets:
- Caldwell and Perquis will be the starting CD's.
- Vanney indicated the team put themselves into another gear at one point
- Bendik sounded far less laconic then he has in the past - like he finally decided to grow up
- Larson tweets to not expect starters against NYRB - Vanney trying to get players used to a one game a week mentality
entire match. I dunno why people were complaining of the stream quality
“Years have gone by and I’ve finally learned to accept myself for who I am: a beggar for good football.
I go about the world, hand outstretched, and in the stadiums I plead: ‘A pretty move, for the love of God.’
And when good football happens, I give thanks for the miracle and I don’t give a damn which team or country performs it.”
-Eduardo Galeano
Agreed. Altidore hasn't looked like much but the service is non-existent.
Another poster was speculating if Caldwell will be around here for much longer, have to say I'm wondering the same.
It looks a lot like Cheyrou and Bradley play double pivot which I find annoying when the defensive responsibilities break down. However it is nice to have two central mids who can pick up the ball without the other team keying on any one player.
